RobertE Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 I'm guessing the problem is windows 8 (didn't exist when EI developed their tools) but maybe it's me. I've just now gotten around to attempting to install the diagnostics software that came with my engine analyzer a couple of years ago. Although the files on the disc are visible and it seems to suggest some things downloaded, I can't find an icon or, for that matter, anything on the laptop. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
danb35 Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 Don't use their ancient software; use my gadget instead (some assembly required): http://interociter-enterprises.com/Interociter_Enterprises/Downloader.html Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with Win8 to directly answer your question.

I'd put money on it being Windows 8 incompatibility. I'd call their tech support. I believe they still sell the UBG16, so they may have a software update.
Piloto Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 I recently installed a UBG-16 but did not installed the MEM module for data recording. Mostly due to lack of space and trust on my intuition and experience on diagnosing engine problems. It takes more than EGT/CHT readings to diagnose and engine. I am very happy with the UBG-16. I am adding the fuel flow option for the original FT-101 transducer. José.
Schinderhannes Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 Don't know about the EI, but I had the same issue with the EDM 700. Tech support told me that the software doesn't work with W8.
