First Gen Ipad trade-in

I'm not a big fan of Target stores, but I might have to darken their doors.  They are offering $200 for any working iPad all the way back to the first generation model, which I still fly with.  It is in the form of a gift card only, but with the store selling the iPad Mini at $299, it makes for a cheap upgrade for those who want to go that route.  The next generation retina display comes out later but I may not wait.

I think we're about to trade my wife's Gen 1 iPad in for this offer as well.  It is a 64gb with cell data and it is a shame it won't fetch more, but looking at ebay that seems to be at the top of the market and without the hassle and fees.  If anyone has a 16gb WiFi only model they should RUN to the nearest target and do this.

I just noticed that there giving $25 and $40 gift cards with most Ipad purchases also.  It makes upgrading a no brainer.

I am waiting for the mini 2 and planned to pass my Ipad Generation 1 over to my wife.  Since the Mini 2 is only a couple more weeks out, this promo allows us to get things going a little sooner.  We are trading my Gen1 for a Ipad retina display model for my wife.  The cost ends up being $210 to upgrade.  I then will buy the Mini 2 when it comes out at the end of the month.

 

I had the Ipad  on the co-pilot yoke for the last few years and decided to convert to the Mini so I can have it on the pilot yoke.  Better solution for instrument flying!

Failed to mention that it ends tomorrow the 9th. I just got my $200 card but they were sold out of the Mini's. The card is good online so will order mine there.

Oh no!  I was going to say thank you for the tip - my father's ipad 1 never really worked right and now it's really slow.  We could have traded it in.  I'm sure there will be other trade in offers, but that seemed like a good one.
