I understand that. My point was that the previous owner probably flew the tanks dry a few times and figured out that they could never get the full 32 usable back in it. I saw the same thing with my bladders. Although the bladder supplement shows a total 2.5 gallons of unusable for both tanks, it really is closer to 2.5 gallons of unusable per tank. My guess is that someone placarded it this way because they could never get 32 gallons of usable. When I installed the new senders and caps for my bladder system, I had to calibrate the JPI gauges. There was no way I had 27.4 gallons per side usable. Both tanks can only provide 26 gallons usable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Thanks. I wasn’t sure if it was a vibration or heat issue causing it to crack (I leave the light on the ground and anywhere below cruise altitude). Have there been any reports of the newer lights cracking? I’m pretty sure mine has cracked both times within a year. A friend just installed an AeroLed light. Do you sell these as well? I have Whelen’s all the way around on my plane. One complaint I have is the lens cover on my original Parmethesus PAR 46 landing light has cracked twice. Whelen stepped up and replaced the lens cover the first time it cracked within the first year. It has cracked again. Is the lens cover available to purchase? I second your guess. When my VR went out, I had similar symptoms. My plane never (this over 30 years and 2 alternators) ever reached 14V. I would see a solid 13.8 but in the week before it failed, it would drop down in the low 13 range and occasionally down in the high 12s. Resetting the field breaker would bring it back up for periods of time back to 13.8. I was convinced it was the alternator going bad. Then it hard failed. I replaced it with a Zeftronics and couldn’t be happier. Rock solid at 14.1V and has been this way for the past 3 years. Even at idle it maintains the voltage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
