  1. Ned, have you tried Ogdensburg? Last time I went to Florida It took 10 minutes they only check our passports and that was it... no filling of any form, no getting inside. It is true it was around Christmas time though... Yves
  2. Have a nice flight to Orlando Ned. Stay away from Mickey Mouse. Looks like another cold snap is coming our way. Do you realize guys that we still have snow around here? Yves
  3. Marauder, would you have the date when the 666 rule was changed to 66 in USA? I know it was several years ago but l want to see the context and presented arguments at that time. We are still under 666 in Canada and wish it would change to match what you guys have. Yves
  4. Is this part between the motor and the transmission? I was at the airport a few hours ago and the mechanic came to see me and he said it was the part between the motor and the transmission... not a spring issue. Yves
  5. Got the response from the mechanic and his answer is "No", nothing more. Next time I speak to the aircraft owner I will ask him if he has more details. Yves
  6. I just sent an email to the mechanic who fixed the plane after the gear up. I will let you know his answer when I get it. Yves
  7. There was this one in Gatineau summer 2014. Yves
  8. Who is babysitting the parrot? Nice pictures Mike. Keep them coming. Yves
  9. For your AI, check the Rc Allen 22 series at Spruce. They are around $1000 new. I did buy this instead of overhaul and it fits very well on the panel. Yves
  10. Works now. Thanks Paul Yves
  11. Actually Paul I can get to the registration page... the issue is seeing the list of who is registered. Yves
  12. Paul, I cannot access the registration section too. Getting this: Google Drive We're sorry. This document is not published.
  13. The first thing I put in my box is a spare fuel sump drain valve. About 4 years ago on a preflight I sumped the fuel and it would not stop streaming, regardless of my actions on the valve. Some crud prevented it from closing. I had to dissasemble it to find out what caused this. Yves
  14. Do this with the master off: Disconnect the minus wire from the transducer and measure the resistance between the wire that you disconnected and the ground. It should read infinite with the vane not actuated. If not, you need to disconnect at the vane and measure again. If it is infinite, the vane is probably the culprit. If it is not infinite, your wire is touching something in between that it should not. Yves
  15. Hard to beat Canadian winters for cold weather operations... I installed many years ago a trailer connector the same way Clarence mentioned above. It is fused. I keep the battery topped up by connecting a low current solar panel to it. No need for electrical outlet power around. I will post picture later... now the aircraft is in annual. I also use a 35000 BTUs propane heater to warm-up the engine before startup. Pipe goes on the left side cowl flap opening. The coldest I flew was -30 C on ground. Wife has said... not anymore. Yves
  16. This film came I believe from a TV series called Les Chevaliers du ciel. I remember watching this every week or so when I was a kid. Real French stuff. Yves
  17. Aircraft is registered in Oregon. Yves
  18. Yes I agree, rule #2 is shut up! Guess how I know? This year will be my fourth Caravan. I hope Mike can make it. Perhaps we could designate his parrot our mascot for this year? Yves
  19. After you get acquinted with rule #1, you may want to look at this video that is basically the ground school part of the training: http://youtu.be/i81AGMS4deY Yves
  20. Mike, we can start your training right now, right here and it is free. The first thing you need to learn is this: Rule #1: Don't hit the lead! Yves
  21. My C is a 1965 and I have them. Did it get taken off at some point? I am pretty sure Don Maxwell would know. Yves
  22. Part is on order from Spruce. Thanks for your help folks! Yves
  23. Folks, my mechanic just told me I need a replacement landing light/breaker switch. Cliffy, (or anyone) can you help me locate one that will not break the bank? My bird is a 65C and the switch is the all metal lever type. (round) Yves
  24. No flying this week-end for us. Aircraft is undergoing annual now. Even if it would be available have you seen the temperature in eastern Canada these days? Was minus 30 C when we woke up. Prefer to stay warm at valentine's. Yves
  25. Tim, I just saw this post. Diane and I are happy you and wife are OK. Hope to see you again in the Caravan this summer. A friend had a similar event last summer at my home field. His airplane is back in the air and life is back to normal for him. I'll try to find pictures and post them here. Yves
