  4. If you happen to own the tool to install skybolt fasteners for the cowling, the curve in the tool exactly matches the wing leveler yoke button curve. I used it when I needed to replace the orings. Yves
  5. I bought a new iPAD mini 3 months ago since my other one was sometimes acting up and could not be charged while used. After paying $160 to replace the glass on my first one a year ago I have started using Otterbox cases to protect them. On my way to Madison / Oshkosh in July I did get my first overheat event and realized that I need to take it out of that box in order to have it properly cool off. I was IFR but in VMC when it happened so When it happened I told the wife to go with our backup procedure which is to turn on the backup unit and fire foreflight on it. I did warn her before the flight that in case of any issue with my new iPAD that the old one shall be fired up by her. This protocol worked and I was able to cool off the new unit after taking it out of the case. Yves
  6. Congratulation to both of you folks! Our wedding anniversary is tomorrow. I will not tell you the number of years... except it is probably more than your age. Yves

  13. The reason that a flight plan is automatically open is because there are many places an aircraft can depart where there is no means to activate. For example, many floatplanes take off from remote lakes. Yves

  16. There is lots of room near the Mooney Caravan tent this morning. Row 551, 552, 553. Put up some sign you want to get there. Might work. Yves,
  17. The Mooney tent is around row 552. Several aircraft are departing Wednesday morning. If you have a sign with something like: GAC Row 551-553 There are good chances they will send you there. But no guarantees. Yves
  18. Thanks for all attendies. Thanks for all those who donated cash to pay for the pizza. After the second order we ran out of pizza around 6:45 PM, we are sorry for the late arrivals that did not have any left. We were able to provide beer to them. 19. Just to let you know that the pizza has been ordered and will be there at 6 PM. Yves (Olaf) C-FQKM
  20. The same generator is used on farm tractors. This is why electrical shops know about them. Might be hard to get it fixed on a Sunday though. Yves
  21. All looks good folks for the Caravan arrival around 11:00 AM today. I have made arrangements for Pizza on Monday at 6 PM. Just take note that there is another pizza event at the tent just an hour before with the Caravan members and Caravan spounsors. More warm pizza will show-up in time. When you get to the tent, just get your tag and socialize. I would like to thank the individuals who pledged money to pay for pizza. We will have a hat or something to accept these amounts and any donations from people. After the pizza and tags are paid, any remaining money will be donated equally between the Mooney Caravan Safety foundation and the MooneySpace Web site. I will disclose the amount details during the week. Yves
  22. Several are but I don't know exactly who. You may ask Larry B. 9201A, I think he is and would know who else is for the Caravn folks. Yves
  23. Jolie, we flew right over Poplar Grove at 2.5K yesterday on our way here trying to avoid the weather system. It was around 2:40 PM and we did talk on the Unicom. Not sure if you were on the ground then. If you saw a Mooney around that time, it was us. Yves
  24. It is Wisconsin Aviation. When inside the FBO, after checking in with them, ask them to call the shuttle for the Holiday Inn. Yves
  25. We made it to Madison WI this afternoon. This is the staging location for the Mooney Caravan. Was not easy as there was a large weather system in the way. Went around south of Chicago and made it safely. Yves
