  1. This was purchased by a friend who had a panel upgrade scheduled but had to make one trip into So Cal where there is a lot of traffic. He made the one trip with it and then the airplane went in to the shop and he had active traffic installed. It is brand new. You can't buy these any more. With the right cable these can interface with Garmin 396, 496, 695/6, 795/6. Guaranteed it arrives to you just like new. New he paid $1500+. First $795 shipped anywhere in the US takes it. (Paypal gift payment to lance99@aol.com) NEW PRICE $695 $595 SHIPPED ANYWHERE IN THE US TAKES IT.
  2. The guys at Central Texas Avionics in Georgetown TX are great
  3. Does it still have the volume issue or has it been repaired and yellow-tagged? http://www.beechtalk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=93332

  5. I wouldn't used Scotchrbite since that might be too abrasive. On a 231 that I had years ago with original paint, I used a wax with a cleaner in it (very light abrasive) with soft cloths. This removed the oxidation without being too abrasive. I kept changing the cloth. A lot of color showed up on the cloth but the paint shined great after that. I did that a few times and then used another good wax of the same brand. I'd try that first - at least you won't do any harm. Here's one that I've used: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/meguiarsquick.php?clickkey=6558
  6. Black iPad 3 WiFi plus Cellular model (Verizon, but I've been using T-Mobile, AT&T sim card also works, Sprint does not). The cellular one has the built in GPS chipset. (Will combine shipping on both for $10) Ram Mount Receiver for iPad 3 - will work with your other ram yoke or glareshield or suction cup mount - was around $25 new, sell for $10 if you buy the iPad
  7. Apple Air WiFi 16 gb - Space Gray model. Took the plastic off of the box and powered up but never used it. Bought as a second iPad - but decided to buy 128gb cellular model instead and sell my 64gb cellular model and this one to have just one. New I paid $499 plus tax. First $399 + $10 shippingbuys it. now 375 including shipping (Paypal gift payment to lance99@aol.com)
  8. Both the new Ovation and Acclaim have two WAAS Gps and one Mode S Transponder - that should make it ADS-B compliant, right? mooney price list.pdf
  9. Cowl flap motors in later K models (252, Encore) have been discussed before. (I think the MSE/Allegro use the same set-up.) There is an up limit switch that may not be working properly or it may be time to rebuild the cowl flap motor. The topic below starts with not-so-good news but a solution is eventually found. http://mooneyspace.com/topic/8315-m20k-252-cowl-flap-motor/
  10. Whelen Parmetheus are good - I still use those for Taxi, but after trying out the Whelen Landing version of the PAR36, I ended up going with the AeroLED SunSpot 36LX - MUCH better lighting. Well worth the difference. I'll never go back to incandescent after having LED. The current draw is next to nothing. Anytime I am close to an airport I leave them on. I got mine at Sun N' Fun from Spencer Aircraft. You might try calling Chuck Young at (253) 848-9349 and see if he'll make you the same Sun and Fun deal.
  11. Yours is an Encore, serial number 25-2029 with TKS, mine is serial number 25-2012, also with TKS. Even with TKS I come within 3 knots of what the POH says without TKS. I think part of your lower speed is your prop. Below is an article from AOPA when the Encore was introduced in 1997. But here is what they found in testing: "Out front, the Encore uses the same McCauley two-blade propeller found on the 252 — much to the surprise of the engineering staff. After 3 months of testing four other propeller designs from a total of three manufacturers, the engineers concluded that the original prop delivered the best performance. When I flew the Encore prototype in March, engineer Bowen was testing the three-blade MT composite propeller from Germany (see " Waypoints: Mooney Gets an Encore," May Pilot). All white, the prop looked great and undoubtedly had the nod from the marketing staff. However, it delivered the worst cruise performance and had the lowest TBO and highest price. A Hartzell two-blade and two other McCauley two-blade variants all turned in respectable performance, but the original McCauley design won the heat." Mooney Encore ARTICLE- AOPA.pdf
  12. Here's the latest price list: http://www.mooney.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/2014-Acclaim-and-Ovation3-Price-Sheet.pdf
  13. Dave Gill is the Service Manager at CrownAir on Montgomery Field in San Diego. Great operation - I did a pre-buy there and it was well worth it. I had him follow the items on the attached pre-buy and told him to look for anything else as well. Obviously there will be a few other things to look at with the Rocket Conversion. P. S. If you're buying the airplane from Gary at Santa Ana, tell him hi from Lance in TX. He's a good guy - did everything he promised. ENCORE PRE-BUY.pdf
  14. What does it have on the panel?
  15. Still have a few more available for KLN-94 only.
  16. This makes sense since most panel mounts are certified for enroute or approach, etc. They wouldn't want the portable (non-certified) feeding the certified unit the flightplan, only the other way around.
  17. The newest software update (4.4), released last week, adds attitude info from the GDL-393D to the 795 or 796.

  19. Looks like it may be able to be repaired http://ultimatedoorseals.com/repairs.html
  20. Your choice one OR the other: I am going to keep whichever one doesn't sell. Garmin Aera 795 (this is the one that does not have XM weather. I pair it via Bluetooth to a GDL 39 3D - it does a great job of giving me ADS-B weather and traffic without the XM subscription cost. It has the Yoke mount (which I use on the glareshield compass post on my Mooney), the DC connection with cigarette lighter plug and the take home mount with AC power which makes updates and practicing with the unit convenient. All of the maps and charts and approach plates were updated in March 2014. $1250 plus $25 shipping. Garmin Aera 796 with XM (GXM40 Antenna included), yoke mount, the DC connection with cigarette lighter plug and the take home mount with AC power which makes updates and practicing with the unit convenient. The maps and charts and approach plates haven't been updated since 2012. $1550 plus $25 shipping. Payment via Paypal gift method (send to lance99@aol.com) When I get back home I can post some pictures, but I think you know what the units look like.
  21. There are many reasons it could have happened - but so far it sounds like he ran out of fuel.
  22. N563JK a 2008 ACCLAIM - not sure if the Amsafe seatbelts were standard then - they are now on new airplanes being built http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNum_Results.aspx?NNumbertxt=563JK
  23. Ok, let's try this again . . the "buyer" who said he was going to send a check never did. The first person that is interested in these lights that sends the appropriate amount via Paypal as a gift to lance99@aol.com owns them. I will ship them out as soon as I receive payment. Thanks
