  1. Erik J, Could I clean the master relay with contact cleaner? What does it look like? I have a hunch that’s the problem. Not the switch. Tim
  2. Hi all, I have an issue with the master in my Encore. When I turn the master rocker off the power stays on. If I recycle I can get it to shut off. Doesn’t happen every time. Cleaned with contact cleaner but still happens. Before I spend $435 on a new switch I’d like to hear any thoughts that it could be a different problem.
  3. Bobbie Eldridge Repair Department Administrator Allied Dothan (Globe Motors, Inc.) (334) 983-7237 Fax: (334) 983-7312 bobbie.eldridge@alliedmotion.com Globe turned it in a couple days, about 10 total with shipping. Installed and working like new. Cost just under $500 plus shipping, $533 total. Much better than the $1300 I was looking at from Mooney. Cheers!
  4. This thread has been very helpful. A couple updates, Globe has merged with Allied Motion. Bobbie's address is bobbie.eldridge@alliedmotion.com, 334-983-3237. Their mailing address is still Globe Motors Inc 3887 Napier Field RD Dothan, AL 36303 I just shipped my motor to them, I'll post the results. Tim
  5. I have this prop on my Encore. It replaced a two blade Hartzell before I owned it so I can't personally compare the two. It is smooth and improves climb performance but I think it slows me down. I also have the paint peeling issue as in the photo.
  6. Kortopates, Thanks, that sounds like the solution. The heat shield I'm talking about is on the same section of exhaust but could be the same issue. I'm having the annual done at Maxwell Aviation and have talked to Don about it. I think he had a solution. My last annual was done at a MSC too but I was never very happy with the work. Several attention to detail issues but I won't name or dis the shop on a public forum. Cheers!
  7. MT prop. Has roughly 300 hrs, I've never balanced it. Thx.
  8. I'm having issues with the exhaust heat shield on my M20K located in front of the engine below the prop. At the PPI a year ago I was told that the bracket had broken and it wasn't attached when they removed the cowling. That shop "fixed" it but I'm not sure how they repaired it. When I changed the oil at about 35 hours, the heat shield fell to the floor when we removed the lower cowling. At that time I had new brackets fabricated of a thicker gauge metal and reattached it. Now at the annual, about 40 hours later it was still attached to the exhaust pipe but one of the brackets had broken again. So it was hanging by one bracket and surely going to vibrate off in a short time. Has anyone else had this issue and how do I confidently repair it this time? I'm afraid of it coming loose and rattling around inside the cowling. Unfortunately I don't have pictures. Tim
  9. Hi Mike, I made the move to DC in October and based at 2W5 in MD. I'm in a nice hangar, paved access, bifold doors. It's an easy drive from the Capitol. They have a new runway, new taxiway this summer ans plans for several more hangars. PM me for more info. Tim
  10. Hi Mooney Mite, I would consider buying (or building) a hangar. I already have a house though. Pricey.... These are not top of the line hangars either.
  11. I'm moving to DC this fall and liked Potomac Field VKX. Hangars are priced from $375-400 on the website. Talked to the airport manager/owner D.W. and put my name on a "hangar waiting list" months ago. He led me to believe I was in the running. When one came open he put it up for bid on eBay. Closed out today at $510/month! If you have the $$ you have priority. I'm all for capitalism but there is something unsettling about this tactic. (I didn't bid BTW)
  12. I'm looking for the male Scott fitting that plugs into the plane. Exactly like the needle vlave in the Pilot Mall link from Fantom but I just need the fitting. I have the regulator and cannulas. This is a great price, may be worth it to have new sets unless someone has some fittings lying around. Thanks
  13. I'm looking for 2-4 Scott O2 fittings for Aerox cannulas from a Navaho. Thanks Tim
