  1. I ran across this over on BT and had to share it. Some really great video and mountain scenery (just not a mooney) of a Silver Eagle. Quite impressive if it matches your requirements (super short field, jetA, etc) and your budget...
  2. Just sent $50 in honor of Bob as well... Plus I want to make sure we get all of @Alan Fox's money!
  3. Great news! Would love to see an expanded UL extended to early J's (figured why not throw this out there)
  4. I too have a work-issued 12.9" iPad that I would have loved to use but unfortunately its size is its downfall (for me). During a recent panel upgrade I ended up doing away with my yoke-mounted 696 and went with an iPad mini mounted in a guardian mount. I went with this mount: https://www.guardianavionics.com/ifdr-aircraft-instrument-panel-flush-mount-ipad-mini-package-with-power-supply They do have a panel mount for the 12.9". If you could get it in your panel it would be awesome for sure. https://www.guardianavionics.com/iPad-Pro-129-in-Panel-Mount-FAA-Certified-Apple-Lightning-Cable-Only-_c_31.html -K
  5. Was the Citation Mustang (thanks Nick) doing touch n go's? Never heard of a jet doing it.
  6. Sort of impressed with where they are now. That landing looked pretty good. Now, willing to put paying passengers...probably got a bit of time to wait for that. -K
  7. Congrats on figuring it out and keeping the Mooney off its belly! Twin turbo commanche...the holy grail of twins for most of my missions.
  8. I'm for this. If it encourages pilots to ask questions about about unique approaches, weather, or even things that were covered "years" ago when he/she got their IR, then I think it's a good thing. I realize BT has a lot more members (many of us are members of both) but they have an IFR/WX category as well. In fact I see many MS'rs over there in that category even.
  9. Yeah...the same exact thought was going through my mind...
  10. Wow. Really nice looking bird. Congrats to whoever finally gets it. If it ends up being a forever plane it has the bones to be one of the finest in the fleet. And tanks being done recently by Paul definitely doesn’t hurt!
  11. No yaw damper here on a J and super stoked about the GFC500 ...I wonder if there's a difference with the long body and higher HP compared to the J
  12. 2 years so far and working like new
  13. So the funny thing is that I've been trying to get the "bandit" look around the window and until you posted this pic I didn't realize the paint around the windows on N1137Z is actually black. I'll be trying that in the next revision.
  14. Yes I love this one as well. If you see the thread I started this is very much the inspiration. We are using Scheme Designers as well. -K
  15. Got our 2 from @Jeph357 Would be happy to get a couple from Shery also if they are for sale.
  16. Great tip. I asked the designer to make it an outline so it wasn't so noticeable. I'd like to go with the least visible, yet still legal option. I'll get then to lighten the color.
  17. Probably a minor tune up...nothing major for a while...I'd really love to take it to Hector and let him do his magic...easily hits $15k though
  18. I'll either have Hawk or Tony do the paint. I was happy to see him listed on Scheme Designer's list of recommended shops. Where are you based? I'd love to see how it looks especially after 5 years. I know Tony does really high-end work so I'm sure your plane is beautiful. -K
  19. I was definitely leaning towards the cowl in 5-2 then I saw another Mooney with the front of 6-2. I actually like both and would love to see them both on a real plane in person lol. Also still have to decide on what to do with the wings but I think that will be a much easier decision.
  20. So I kept expanding the scope of my avionics upgrade so painting got delayed. I'm still hoping for next spring potentially. I hired Scheme Designers to give me some ideas. I'm thinking: 5-1, 5-2, or 6-1. 6-2. Here's the link for all of the designs. https://www.schemedesigners.com/MooneyM20J-Adams/ Scheme 3 is definitely out. I think it looks pretty cool on the long-bodies but not my fav on the mid. We haven't decided on exact colors but this is one of our favorites. Thoughts on the scheme? As most of you know already Scheme Designers has been great to work with. -K
  21. Didn't think it covered the J. Would love to hear if it does. -K
  22. 2 of #4...need to know where to send payment
  23. Sounds like Jimmy is the guy out west. Anyone close to Atlanta that does this and has good recommendations? Overhauled my prop last year and would be willing to try this.
  24. Txs pwnel. I had never heard this (not that I do much myself). I guess I need to follow Mike Busch more closely too.
