  1. Yes. TBO is 2000 hrs.
  2. Ours stays on, it must get power from battery.
  3. Looking for anybody who has experience with both. We now have a GTN and are looking at newer planes with G1000 (waas). Are we giving up too much functionality going to the older avionics? Will we be sorry? Any advice is welcomed?
  4. Welcome to another South Florida Mooniac. We are located in Pompano.
  5. Price drop, really clean, well maintained aircraft. True cruise at 185 kts at 8000 on 17gps. Great useful load. If your thinking about an Ovation this may be even better.
  6. Heading out on vacation for 3 weeks so that won't be possible. I will when I get back. this is from their website, it looks the same except no mountains here in Florida
  7. He wants me to babysit it for him until he is ready.
  8. Looking for A/C and a little more room for the wifey. Looked at Mirage (ouch), Matrix (really not the right plane for our mission), and now looking at Bonanzas. Funny thing is the Mooney caries 100-150 lbs less at more speed and faster for half the price. Not sure what I'm going to do.
  9. We had the interior totally refurbished, and some avionics changes. Don't think there was much of a change.
  10. Hector at Aero Comfort San Antonio. We sent them to him and shipped them back looking like this!

  12. We have a 1999 Eagle and was told its signal runs through the Moritz gauges. We ended up replacing the Hobbs and bypassing the Moritz. It runs off our master. Yours may be different.
  13. Why do you say the corporation will be run by the airlines? (Just asking)
  14. I am not making light of it. As some here know I have battled Lymphoma twice over the last 20 years. Caught early (any type of cancer) there is a much better chance of positive results. Both times, after very difficult treatment, I came back, got a special issuance and I'm still flying. Get thoroughly checked every year! Never give up
  15. Wow this thread has taken a southbound turn, so to speak. You will all be happy to know that everything is just peachy down there.
  16. No they thought that was rediculous. I told them I was rather unremarkable down there.....hahahaha
  17. Just had my basic med exam here. 59.00...easy in and out.
  18. With the stripes not lined up do you loose 2 kts
  19. I can't believe how cheap your hangers all are. In S Florida they are like $650 per month, $5 + for fuel. $100 hamburgers are like $150 here!
  20. We are paying 5.50-6.25 in South Florida. No to mention the highest hanger rental imaginable. My wife will fly with me if we are going somewhere, not just for fun or a quick meal. Crew Member? If her job description is playing games on the iPad she's a crew member.
  21. 1 G5 doesn't = Aspen PFD 1000, you need 2 (1 for the AI, one for DG). Am I missing something? The VFR Aspen unit is only 5,000 and will drive the autopilot.
  22. i agree to always check fuel flow on takeoff roll, and rpm, but I don't think a leak at the pump would show up.
  23. We have an 1999 Eagle and recently while trying to get the low fuel flow set noticed fuel leaking out of the pump underneath the plane. I'm told these fuel pumps ( on the IO 550) tend to leak out of the seals when they go bad. It was rebuilt and is fine now. I don't know if it was intentional by Continental but the pump mounts low on the back of the engine right in the middle. So when it leaked it would drop down into the belly, between the exhausts and out. Seems like the best you can hope for and least chance of ignition. Still a very scary sight, glad we were on the ground when spotted!
  24. I went Garmin when I had this choice. I actually had a deposit in on a 440 and after a year and a half of delays and excuses I took my money back and went Garmin. Love the unit, never a problem. I switched from Foreflight to Garmin pilot and find they are very comparable. I do use my iPad and flightstream and am very happy with the desision. YMMV. i recommend talking to you avionics guy about both units and get some insight on repairs, warranty, and the company behind them.
