  1. I think I read that it's around 750ish nm, but still decent for a larger plane with a 50 gallon tank.
  2. We've all been on lockdown for the past 3 months. I don't think anyone will complain at this point.
  3. My wife said I better drown first.
  4. Crazy. It has a smaller fuel tank than my c model. I think it's cool. Hope it does well.
  5. Wow, you guys know your planes. I thought I was doing well recognizing the mooney tail.
  6. That cessna is still alive and kicking. Registered in San Diego. Might be a trainer. Flightaware shows lots of flights. It was only 2 years old when you took that flight. I don't think I've ever sat in a plane that new.
  7. I was talking to my avionics shop. They send it out to have it etched into the panel.
  8. sadly, you've flown higher in a 152 than I've flown in my mooney.
  9. Haha. Good story. I hope you weren't the kid that got his tongue frozen to the flag pole because someone said you couldn't do it in the winter.
  10. Great to hear the replacement are working fine. Mine will probably sit on the shelf for years, but it's nice knowing it's there when the time comes.
  11. You've got email saying 65 hours plus 40 hours. 135 is well past that. I think they need to absorb some of their overruns.
  12. I hope you don't but whoever buys your mooney will definitely have a well looked over plane.
  13. I've got an orange label that I use for my 430W if the OP's isn't available. Check with him first b/c i don't want to bust in on his for sale ad.
  14. Landing fee for aircraft stationed there? Is that typical?
  15. Those screens look great. They seem pretty reflective in the pics. Is glare much of an issue?
  16. I believe you have the C and E swapped.
  17. Gotta keep those engines running, even if it means flying to the big city of Perry, GA. @Mooneymite flew down from Locust Grove for a 15 minute visit.
  18. that's a little low. Even with camguard, I think you should fly at least an hour every 3 weeks. That's kinda the rule of thumb I've put together reading posts. Of course, that's not gospel. IMO it's enough to keep oil kicked around the engine and moisture burned out of the oil routinely. Even given this minimum, you'd be hitting around 20 hours a year. He's close, but that's assuming it was spread out evenly. Most likely, there are probably some longer trips with extended gaps between flights. Being at ~1400 smoh, you should only be paying for 30-35% of the engine value. If the plane is priced with this in mind, you don't have as much to lose as someone buying a 200smoh at nearly full price that's been sitting around.
  19. I have a C model with carbureted O-360 and manual gear/flaps. Arguably the least expensive Mooney to operate. I would say any of the normally aspirated 4 bangers will be similar. If you guys can afford a nice J, that's the sweet spot in the Mooney lineup IMO.
  20. That's interesting. I was worried that heat from the film could damage the window over time.
  21. Just to give you a measuring stick, an avionics shop in georgia quoted me $1800 to get a new aluminum panel. If you plan to fly with kids 10 years from now, the c/e may be tight. Eventually you may want an F for the extra rear legroom.
  22. I'd like to see the webinar later, also. As a dual screen aspen owner, my suggestion would be a larger screen and on-screen engine monitor much like the G3X options. I would love to see a larger Aspen screen that could be swapped with 2 current panels.
  23. I read that the wing was located away from the fuselage, so that would make sense. The flames and smoke have me baffled though.
  24. I'm not familiar with the Apollo, but generally speaking, adding GPSS to drive an autopilot is one of the least expensive upgrades. The MX20 is neat, but no longer supported IIRC. Lots of KX155 still out there but getting displays is next to impossible. If it looks bad, you may not have much choice. I heard there's an LCD option but it's not cheap. I have a KN64, but it's getting scrapped as soon as I redo my panel itself. As a rule, it's always cheaper to buy a plane that's spec'd the way you want. The plane costs more, but you're paying only a percentage of the avionics upgrades. As far as the OH, when was it done? Has the plane flown regularly?
