  1. If they are the ones on the bottoms of the yokes , I see them , but have not had a chance to get to them yet..

Not corrosion , its just the way the pic is , The only corrosion so far has been the ADF antenna was trashed , and the Dzus fasteners are rusty , Every plane is a different story , one thing for sure is that sitting is not good for any machine , There are mitigating factors sometimes....One is price , one is where they sit , ..... So far I have only put 900 dollars into the project , ( new tailpipe , used glareshield , used battery , used pucks , 70 gals fuel , new lenses for a few of the radios ) I don't go into these things with my eyes closed , You will hear the (experts) rip it apart , I love when the experts chime in and give their opinions , I have bought and sold many aircraft and over the years only one had a cam issue , The best part about this project is that it came off a property that had 40 cats on it , there is NO rodent or bird damage at all...took me a while to put the two together , also sat in an area that got direct sunlight , Anyhow , The engine purrs like a kitten , (had to clean the points to get it started ) and the autopilot and F/D ground check , So far the only squawks are the lighting in the dash , and the Monroy traffic detector wont turn on , I'm pretty confident this will make a nice bird and I cant wait to fly it....Haven't flown a J in 20 years ..
  3. Tach date stamp coincides with the year and model , so I am pretty confident it is the original tach and time , And what I thought were wood overlays , are lighted overlays....
  4. Because you don't overhaul a 330 hour engine , you run it , and then if it starts making metal , you IRAN it.....
  5. Has anybody installed an Ashby glareshield ? just curious about the quality , also is it a replacement , or a cover for an existing glare shield , My J is missing the glareshield....
  6. Manufacture date of the tach , which should be stamped on it , also we were familiar with the plane , I have been salivating over it for 20 years..

  9. Its not dead yet , No logs.... Monroy tanks , KFC200 autopilot flight director, Electric trim , Leather interior , Articulating pilots seat , I will wash it tomorrow , I threw 70 gallons in today , if it doesn't leak , I might just save it.....

It is evident , that this is not a "B" suffix hub , meaning it is subject to ECI inspections under AD , Also if you look at the bolts in the pics , they show signs of being removed , Without a current logbook , it is buyer beware , Also Hartzell has been using the B hubs since 1998 , so this description is inaccurate at best , at worst its a total lie......Prop is at least 20 years old.....http://hartzellprop.com//wp-content/uploads/2012/12/SB227-R06-W.pdf
  11. Jerry , I had mine NDT'd and tagged , sold it for 2200.00 Russell can tag it at Stallings Propeller.. Also , I wouldn't sell it untagged , too much liability....
  12. That is flyable , Brian (Orion ) has been flying a wingtip three times as bad as that for years.... You could roll it down with a 2 inch dowell , or just put tape on it.....

  15. I just love that we can judge a paint job , by a crappy picture....... NOT .... Could be a great paint job..... How about somebody actually sees the plane before trashing it....

  19. As I read it , it has to do with them changing the priority address in the download to make it work , FAA says no way....
