  1. Sale pending , I included a lone star converter , Thanks Bodi !!
  2. As far as a reseal lasting longer than the factory seal , I say hogwash !!! No matter how well you prep it , nothing sticks like virgin metal , also if you have a F or later , the sealant was put in before the ribs were riveted , Tell me how putting sealant on the fillets is better , also the bladders in the Mooney conversions are literally almost twice as thick as a factory ( beech piper Cessna) Bladder , that's why they never leak..... If the 30 lbs of useful is needed , perhaps the reseal is a better option , but I have installed two sets of bladders , and the people that bought the planes are glad I did..... Also when you sell your plane , the bladders are a HUGE consideration.....
  3. I have been in there multiple times , The airport itself is easy , the prevailing winds usually put you on an approach to the "long" runway , the extension is useable from both approach ends , and the grass is decent enough to taxi a Mooney on, The terrain coming in is a bit challenging , and a little intimidating on the way in , but after the first time in , it is one of the coolest rides .... Don't be fooled by the small airport , this is a real shop , with real manufacturing capabilities , I met them while I was rebuilding a P-210 , and they are great..... They do everything from custom carbon fiber work , to Turbine conversions..... Also very fair on pricing....
  4. Upgraded last year , removed for upgrade , will supply with an 8130 Tray connectors , and antenna , Alan 856 419 5209
  5. Picked the engine up from Aero Engines of Winchester , New cam , New Tappett bodies , new bearings , seals hardware etc..... Fresh top overhaul.......Hung it last night , should be ready tomorrow sometime.....
  6. I think there is a mis conception here about escrow , Escrow is not a deposit , It is a good faith gesture , if the deal is not consummated , ALL escrow is returned .... ALL escrow.....I have a plane going to prebuy next week , The shop he uses will be advised to get paid before the prebuy , as I (the seller) will NOT pay , The buyer is also instructed NOT to use any shops that are on my field , or any shops that I do business with , as a rule , I will not recommend a shop for prebuy , It is about transparency , The things that I do require are expenses for moving the plane to be prepaid , and an escrow account established for the plane , and 5000 dollars in that account , I also do all negotiating prior to the prebuy , The customer , then has the opportunity to purchase , or not , the airplane..... Remember , the escrow acct is the PURCHASERS account , the buyer has NO ACCESS to those funds until he supplies a signed bill of sale to the customer.....
  7. The J has a different engine and prop ...
  8. I have 2 GI 106a indicators , 1950 each , get them before the Beechtalkers do......856 419 5209
  9. Bob , I grabbed two shelf brackets from home Depot , safety wired them to the engine mount , (upside down) , and layed a board , and two sand bags on them...
  10. I am not listing it on this site.....When it is ready , I'm sure someone here will post a link , and everybody can trash it , as you guys always do.....
  11. Prop shows 10 hours since overhaul , Looks new , but no way to verify when it was done , I am running it as it is..
  12. Well , decided to go all the way , Jugs are back from overhaul , and the bottom end is getting a fresh cam , tappet bodies , and bearings....... Should be back up in two weeks...
  13. I just sold that last week...
  14. I hate to burst your bubble , but the back of the prop is the "High pressure" side , Don't think on a moving aircraft , it makes any difference , also , Having owned numerous Mooneys with Ram air , The only "increase" is the bypass of the friction loss from the filter...
  15. My guess is you know how not to lock up your mains , good landing technique.... Its usually the other way around....
  16. I must be dreaming then Peter , I sold three planes in the last six weeks , One being the A-36 parked in the community hangar with yours , For 160K , Guess you are an expert on how to sell a plane also....
  17. The flight special 2s are your best value.....I put them on inventory (used) planes I sell , believe me I am trying to pinch every penny out of every dime , For 120 dollars , you will be pleased...
  18. All of my sales agreements are negotiated prior to inspections , Generally they go through , But , they are written as "buy , or no buy " If the buyer decides not to buy , escrows are returned but expenses are not....
  19. I would say no unless there was a deal in place , and 5000 in escrow, and expenses prepaid......a buyer must have some skin in the game , before the plane moves.....
  20. I have met him , he seems like a decent guy , you will not be impressed with the facility...... the runway is crappy and short...
  21. as a seller , and I sell numerous planes , the buyer can choose a shop , and pay my expense to get it there , my expenses while I wait for the inspection , and my expenses home , I never have , and never will pay any expenses on a sale other than 1/2 of the escrow , and the shop must be within a 2 hour flight .... -400- miles or less...... I think a lot of you guys live in fantasy land....
  22. From personal experience , Better quality tires , are tighter on the bead , long story short , if a tires bead slips on the wheel , it tears the valve stem.....That's one possible failure mode , if the tire was overinflated , it has significantly less traction , and will lock and burn a hole right through to the tube.... That's another possible failure mode , The cheaper tires I have worked with , (Airhawk , Airtrac , Aero trainer , Aero Classic ) all seem to have softer compounds , and much thinner casings... It makes a huge difference.... There is a reason the Good retreads are only using Goodyear , and Michelin cores....
  23. the rule of thumb is turboprops run about ten times more to operate than pistons , and jets ten times that of turboprops..... I see the costs involved in the maintenance of turboprops , but have no direct on the jets , but it sounds about right
