  1. I have flown in the front seat of an 8. Climbs like nobody's business. Very impressive performance that's for sure. Did some tight turns for but no loops. Really fun feeling to fly. A little loud, but not grossly so. The builder/pilot, took him three years, Two different planes, for sure.
  2. Joe, do you ever make a flight that you say, " I should have flown the 8, or I should have used the TN?
  3. I'm jealous.
  4. What is an 8130?
  5. Slightly bummed that we are talking glass, and not carbon. That explains the coyness about weight savings. The analolgy of not eating the whole elephant in one sitting comes to mind. First do the makeover. Then improve and enhance ala Cirrus. I guess I am the impatient type. Give me the plane that can out perform the 22 and also has a chute. That way buyers have a choice between Corvette and Surburban.
  6. I bet Maxwell could get it done in a reasonable amount of time. Reasonable of course is a subjective term. The factory is up and running, parts could be ordered, Parts could already be in stock if you're lucky. Pen Yaw engine could be shipped quick enough if a tear down reveals the need to do so. If your lucky again, maybe the sheet metal specialist has a gap in his calender. Maybe again the work shop has space enough your repair. Three weeks, no. Three months, maybe.
  7. Welcome to forums. Of all the STC's for the short bodies, I feel the Missle is right up there with the Ray Jay and windscreen mods as best bang for the big bucks. shoot us some pic's with the cowl off if you have some. Seth is abstemious with his plane porn
  8. If I had 10 minutes for every time I needed a "special tool" or "mandatory" instructions to get something fixed or done, I would live to be 130. That being said, It sure is nice having a toolbox full of single use items. Makes life much easier on the once a year times you "want" but don't need that damn tool. You want to slap the engineer who designed it.
  9. Any more updates Lance?
  10. Other than one dangling participle, your grammar and syntax are spot on.
  11. What? You read the instructions? 10 demerits on your man card and a 10day probation in the CB club.
  12. Marauder keeps us up to date with eye candy.
  13. That's it. The larger doors are for Marauder's babes. You figured it out!
  14. And to end this thread, it has now occurred to me what I saw that "looked different" to me that day I thought I "saw something". It was the window sight line that caught my eye originally. That back window made me look, and that led me to the seam line on the left side. I didn't know what I saw until I started asking questions. Don, am I out of the dog house now? MNIN, can I come inside now?
  15. For what it's worth, my sources say there are only three or four unfinished single door models. Everything will be double door before the end of the month.
  16. Thanks for sharing. pretty cool df
  17. The speed was certified on the 280 hp, not the 310. I'm fairly certain of that. I would hope the plane is now lighter, with a UL increase to come when the TC is issued. Maybe faster also? The YouTube video says the TC is still pending,,so maybe the specs will be revised?
  18. Can not be done. The M20 frame is not conducive for such an endeavor.
  19. I hope there is a gross weight increase hidden in the details.
  20. What is FMS?
  21. I agree. This seems curious.
  22. Welcome to the forum. Good luck on your endeavor. those numbers equate to $5.50 per. A discount bookstore would sell a specialty book like that for around $15-$25 Those sort of numbers makes sense to me percentage/dollars wise if not a little on the low side. I Don't understand the digital conversion issue as I have zero experience in the field? What costs $11000 to copy a book? We all in the Mooney world I'm sure would support you. I hope it works out for you. David
  23. Ok. I'm looking for my maneuvers book. Have not found it yet. what is the difference In technique between a crab and a slip? during a recent flight, the instructor said why are you crabbing it? I thought I was using a slip technique to slow down. david
