  1. I will agree that this seems a very fair price. If I were asking specifics.... Is ABS in and out situated by the Garmin? What about the oxygen bottle, how long till replacement? I would do probably update those before I would do the interior, if one was worried about the interior. The standard questions about reseal of course. The standard questions about doughnuts of course. Assume all AD;s are compiled with. When was the Mod Squad engine installed? The average hours of usage of the plane is 81 hours per year. I would want to know the last two or three years of usage. On first glance, these numbers seem okay, but I would want the details. Just thinking out loud. DF
  2. I am sorry to say I have no updates. My sources have gone quiet for some reason. grrrrrrrrrrr df
  3. I have been out of town this weekend. Let me get the sources on the line.
  4. I'm sorry for the tease everyone. I am excited for Mooney and I feel a little guilty even bringing up the topic. Come on Mooney, where's the press release!
  5. It was on the flight line today!! I was Not there to see if it flew or not. Grrr. I hope so.
  6. It may have flown today! If not today, tomorrow!!!
  7. A few months ago I posted that Mooney was going to make a big announcement. I know what the announcment is. ✈️ No. Not a jet. i don't know the full extent of the changes, just the major ones. Many have argued for different changes, myself included, but it is a start. David
  8. I got to fly a 172 with my brother in law (Commercial/IFR) and Father in law in the back this weekend. I was left seat. We putted around north Texas, saw lots of wild hogs, did a touch and go at an airport he had not landed at before, and went home. What was funny was he has lots of Cherokee time. He really did not like my sight line with any of my landings. I greased all three of them. He was not liking any of it, he could not get used to my technique. He couldn't argue with the end result.
  9. That is very will thought out ChrisK Good job.
  10. Watch out. I will start talkin' Texan to Ya'll

  15. Again, training with my CFII in actual MVFR conditions, I was taught to listen to ATC. I dropped him off and went back up. Damn if a Lear was coming in above the deck while I was doing pattern work with a ceiling hovering between 1700 and 1800. Pattern altitude was 1600. I heard him receive his clearance, but he didn't once acknowledge me on the local frequency. Lesson learned. DF
  16. No...... Not Byron!!!!!!!
  17. We have done the obligatory blood test on the Pituitary gland and associated Testosterone triggers. So far, all we see is a low "trigger" from the pituitary. Oh well. DF
  18. During my PP training, I was on doing pattern work with my CFI. My instructor flew for companies and had a Citation X on the field he piloted. We were halfway down the runway on the downwind leg. Some kind of big twin called in at 10 miles straight in. I was at the threshold pulling the power back when my instructor said I should have extended my downwind and let the big guy land. He was still five out and I was turning on base. He then said I should have made a tight pattern and landed quick. I asked why and he gave a half hearted explanation of how fast the twin was coming in. The twin did end up doing some kind of maneuver to lengthen his landing. My thoughts at the time were, "that damn twin knew I was there doing T&G's. He knew exactly where I was in the pattern as I announce crosswind, downwind, base, and final. he also knows how slow/fast a 172 is in the pattern", etc, etc. I was actually a little upset at my CFI at the time as he implied I could have done something to help the faster guy. I do know I wasn't experienced enough in the ways of the force to change my landing pattern. I by God was going to land. Df
  19. Wow. I wondered why I was feeling dog tired all the time. I finally talked to my doctor. He ordered tests on hormone counts. Well, I basically had none. The doctor wondered how I was staying awake. So the question is related to my medical. Do I just up and say to the doc that I now have a low "T" count? I know some would warn me about asking these kind of questions on a public forum. I understand the concern. If I was a die hard, 200 hr a year GA pilot, which I am not, I wouldn't ask the question. Thanks in advance.
  20. Patience is a virtue, accept when it's time to pick up your new bird! Good luck and congratulations.
  21. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo...........
  22. I got a sun burn from a polished war bird a few years back. I was at an airshow, sat close to the polished bird better part of two hours, and got thoroughly burnt. figured out later it was because of the reflection from the plane.
  23. Posted 30 July 2015 - 07:44 AM The M20K is a fine airplane. I miss my 252/Encore. You're the one that sold it!!!!!
