  1. Don't sugar coat it Allen. Give it to us straight. We can handle it.
  2. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1001717957411134/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Aca533ac8-1655-4f78-a565-563f4c965ed4 Here is something to look at, or maybe not. What does @Alan Fox think?
  3. Whoo Hooo. I knew there had to be something. Thanks very much.....
  4. @MooneyMayhem Did anything become of this project?
  5. My question is still there though, are there any particular issues with this kind of setup I need to really look at during inspection. No throttle quadrant either, fyi
  6. The papers I have, are dated. Good catch Dr. Clarence. There are some differences but not a terrible lot. There is one added section though and the whole checklist was revamped. Thanks........
  7. Johnson bar and pump flaps which I take as a positive. yes, I have my check list in hand and Dugosh is allowing me to assist in the inspection. Eyes wide open.
  8. I guess my question is: Is it easy to tell the difference between the ARI cowl, J type, or Lopresti? I think the Lopresti has round inlets, and not J style, but that is all I think I know.
  9. I have scheduled a pre-buy on a '67 F. It has what I believe is a J cowl and windscreen conversion. No throttle quadrant. Is there anything specific to those modifications that we should look at in the inspection. Any kind of "got ya"? How do I know if it is a J cowl and not someone different ?
  10. I have scheduled an inspection with Dugosh. I asked for and recieved what their pre-buy entails. They handed me the Mooney 100hr inspection guide. $1800. I read the two sheet inspection. Seems pretty thorough to me. I am paying extra to borescope the cam. Should I ask for anything more to be done?
  11. "What in the Wide wide World of Sports" is blobby? Name that Movie
  12. Wow. Good to hear stories like this. Thanks for sharing.
  13. The toilet picture is funny.
  14. Just now sitting down to go through the logs. Pre-buy scheduled. Let's see what they say.
  15. First, and most likely, forever.
  16. Yes, it is serviceable. Less than 3yrs old. I am assuming at this point the owner got the plane at a good deal, is an AP, and painted it himself.
  17. Forgot to mention that there is no throttle quadrant. I don't take that as a positive or a negative.
  18. Folks, I am looking at an F model and would like opinions please. There are some definite positives and some equal negatives as I see it. Fresh annual All compressions above 73 TTAF - 4752.59 TSMOH - 1810.19 TSPOH - 351.70 2 Garmin G5s Garmin 430W Garmin 530 JPI Engine monitor S-TEC 50 autopilot Speed slope windscreen mod Above is how the plane is advertised. The positive side starts with a modernish panel. Upgraded cowl of some kind (ARI or J model I assume). J style windscreen. Low time on prop. Negatives start with but are not limited to: the close to TBO engine. Armature (not intended to insult owner/painter) paint job that started with a sanding of original paint and then painted over. Runs and drips are visible. Recovered vinyl at some point but still dated interior. No rips or tears. Bad carpet. AP is reported to droop to the left but not repaired at annual just last week. $77,000 asking. I have been sent the logs but have not reviewed as of yet. Do not know yet why prop is different than engine hours wise. Please be respectful. Do not think sellers are here but may have friends on this site.
  19. Thanks folks. Appreciate it.
  20. Which airport is best to go to South Padre Island? I am Port Aransas guy but it is time to try South Padre.
  21. How do you look up damage history on a prospective purchase? N9734M '67 F-model.
