  1. Thanks all. I do agree the 2nd nav probably wont get used much, if at all. But i guess the same logic for a standby elec backup vac system can apply here. Id rather have it and not need it than vice versa. Im too young and the businesses doing too well to die an untimely death by crater. Ill probably have him put in the garmin gnc 255 unless you all spend my money on something else? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  2. Installer is looking at my stuff and saying we should pass on installing the Narco that was going in com / nav 2. It works but he is pushing me to upgrade that and have a totally fresh panel and all new equipment. Would you be alright putting in just a com in spot 2 like a Trig TY96A or would you want nav / com in the 2nd spot such as a GNC-255? Or would you volunteer another choice in the hat? 3. My avionics guy is a dealer for TT and has one in his 172. I want to say he mentioned 40 hr install time? He has a standing order to get me one as soon as they get the stc Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  4. Why are we putting in a 24v ifd440 then? I was lead to believe my plane is 24 Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  5. Glenn, following up to my pm. Id like to buy this if you still have it and it works om my E. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  6. Well he said he would start in March. I was lead to believe first week. But late seems normal so today, the 24th of March he is finally on my bird. I was looking thru the maintenance logs, plane has only flown about 60 hrs in the last 5 years. You all now have me concerned about the cam making metal. Oh well, i guess ill deal with it as it comes. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  7. I just posted on their facebook congrating them and bugging them for our mooneys. Maybe we can show force on the social media and get to the top of their attention? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  8. All roads keep leading me back to Aspen. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  9. Whats to say someone wont use it for an approach though? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  10. LOL. Telepathy? Mechanic suggested a key mounted below the dash. Sounds like a knee killer to me. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  11. If we put it horizontally, we would shift the 6-pack to the right one column. Appreciate the guidance on the buttons. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  12. EDM set vertically or horizontally? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  13. Took this down time during February to redo all the insulation and fresh air hoses in the cabin. David and the parts team at LASAR came thru for us perfect timing - thanks y'all. This week starts my month block with the mechanic. These panels should help speed things along. Supposedly my planeis going from mx to avionics at the end of the month. Yeah. Im too trusting. But im hopeful.
  14. I didnt see the 2000 system listed online; if it helps anyone, they quoted me $16,900 and included the AOA and SV with that price. My wife said no. If this is an annual cycle, Ill just wait a year or two until she forgets.
  15. Ive got a good friend who will be renting my mooney on occasion. Id like to bring him that weekend too. Do they have rental Es he could fly in or does he nees to take my plane on another weekend? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  16. Bumping this up. Anyone going to this in October in Kentucky? I think I'm going to register.
  17. Put me on the list too. Ive always wanted a Porsche 911 to wrap chrome like this one. Lets do my plane this way. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  18. Please share your findings. I’d like to do the same Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Since my wife shut down the dual Aspens, I went to lasar for their pre-cut 8 pack panel. I think you make a really good point that having Avionics and pre-cut panels all together at one spot would make a lot of sense. Or, by the avionics from them, and they'll do the layout and custom cut the panel for you too. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  20. Build a solid reputation for timeliness and hitting your estimate. Id overlook a small cost differential if I believed I'd have an upgrade done on tine and on budget. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  21. No, install was extra. Ive got to wait to make sure we dont have a surprise tax liability. So ill see if they make the same deal in March or April. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  22. Just saw the written quote. Aspen 2000 System including angle-of-attack and synthetic vision for $16900. Kind of hard to say no to the quote at that price. Supposedly their rep wants it paid for this month. But I'm inclined to think that this might be the new normal pricing? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  23. Scheduled to come work on my plane every Friday to keep some heat on him. I guess i like him since my dogs are allowed in. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  24. Man. Making the decision easier. Thanks! My wife asked me what i wanted for my birthday next week, said she had nothing. I told her an evening with her in one of her sexy outfits and an aspen 2000. She didnt object. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  25. I just got a quote on a 2000 system and the price was pretty decent. Avionics guy said the rep was throwing in AOA and something else too. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
