  1. Also interested for an 87 J. Mine is pretty new but doesn’t seal well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I find I get plenty of heat from the duct in the middle, but my feet freeze because the heat duct is so far back (relative to my feet). I have wondered if something could be fabricated to direct heat forward towards my feet.
  3. Century has been around and from their website they still seem to be around in some fashion. The avionics shops I have contacted have not gotten any responses from them in at least a month. I am hoping this is temporary...
  4. I have a J model with a Century Triden autopilot. I am having issues with the electric trim and am looking for a shop who has some knowledge of this autopilot. I have contacted a local reputable avionics shop and also autopilots central. Neither have experience and century seems to have gone off the grid. Anyone know of a shop who has experience with this autopilot? It was installed by Pacific coast in 2000 but I live in Michigan. I would prefer someplace a bit closer but I guess I will contact them if I can’t find any place else. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I've had some work done there - great guys. I was going to have my annual done there this year but COVID was going crazy in the area so I got it done locally. They usually have quite a few Mooney's in the shop!!
  6. Any chance the C/E model you sat in had pedal extensions? I am 6’2” with very long legs. I had 3 inch extensions on my J when I bought it and couldn’t get in. Without them, my seat is in the last hole and very comfortable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. As of a month ago, or so, yes. They are filling fast lately though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. General Aviation must be up in general. 15 years ago, the wait for a hangar at my airport was 4-5 years. When I started back into aviation in 2016, there were around 50 empty hangars, now only 5-6. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Have you detected any radio interference? The LED lights in my hangar make a ton of noise over my 530.
  10. No worries - i'm sending the bill now!!
  11. In my case, the autopilot trim continued to operate when I had a broken wire. I don’t have a KFC150, I have a Century Tridon. I do not know if the wiring is similar or not. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Are you sure it is the switch? My electric trim stopped working and it was a broken wire at the end of the yoke shaft.
  13. I have not been back to the hangar to take the cowl off. I do know i have the silicon seals already in place but i have no idea which thickness. Why would I pick a thin one Vs a thick one? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
  14. The guy next to me drives a Cirrus and just bought a best tug. I think it travels too fast making it hard to control. I have the old school single wheel tug. It’s slow but it’s rare that I have to reverse and try again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I got mine in July. Fly into PTK (Michigan) You can get it done there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. How do I keep the top baffle from flipping backwards? I’ve noticed higher than normal oil temps and have found the the top baffle is flipped backwards. Reached under the cowl and fixed it but it was flipped backwards again after I landed. It is a J Model. Is it time to replace them or does anyone have any tricks? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. There is an entire thread regarding owner produced LED recognition lights. My hangar fairy decided on the crazed pilot landing light / Mag reflector as it looks a lot like the original part. It's bright and does not create much heat. Not a terribly difficult job either. Search for Ovation recognition light and you can find the thread....
  18. I bought mine from Great Lakes Aero. They are also available from knots2U but I believe Great Lakes Aero manufacturer the lens for them. I was fortunate enough to pick it up from their factory as I live close to them. Great Lakes Aero has been making them directly for Mooney for 10 years or so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. https://www.aircraftwindshieldstore.com/aircraft-parts/mooney/m20k/25-1-25-0999/ These are the guys actually Manufaturing the lenses. Good guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Be careful with these lights. They will melt your lens - trust me. I just spent $300 to replace one of mine. The navigation lights can get hot as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I have the P2 advisory system installed in my J. It was installed by a previous owner. I like it. It is re-assuring to hear a voice in your headset on short final "Gear is down for landing". It is speed based, so if you are practicing slow flight with the gear up, the voice in your headset gets pretty annoying quite quickly.
  22. Anyone have the schematic for an 87 J model? I am having the same issue. Gear lights work but push to test does not. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. I have a pair of Halo's that I would sell if you are interested in a slight discount. They are virtually brand new. I think I only tried them twice. They work well, I just realized that I hate having something stuck into my ears. It's a personal preference thing I guess. I will have to say, it feels kind of weird wearing them for the first time when you are accustomed to wearing normal headsets. I can clearly understand how someone would try to exit the airplane with them still on.
  24. Totally agree. It’s doubtful you will ever find a nicer one than this. You can be comfortable buying this one sight unseen - write the man a check and go pick it up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I have a Garmin GTX 345 Transponder with a built in timer. Does this count?
