  1. Bob, that’s one damn good looking Mooney!
  2. PTG...could you post dimensions and materials used in making these?
  3. Good videos Bob.
  4. Do you have any pics of the described items?
  5. Just received in the mail today but I think it’s going to be a while before it’s put to use......
  6. Here is what is installed in my 67 1/2 (68) F. It has the Prestolite Atl.
  7. Could be....As you know, the slowest of the Mooney’s but still a Mooney! 45 Hours on Prop and Eng indicates that it had a Prop strike. Rockport: Look for Coastal Corrosion, Hurricane damage, the Engine WILL have Tappet/ Cam corrosion but if Cam Guard has been used then could mitigate some...Get him to fly it up to JD at Southwest Texas Aviation in Smithville for pre-buy, then decide.
  8. Especially with your Cowl?
  9. Is Mod Works in business any longer?
  10. Sabremech, just so you know, my F is undergoing a Major renovation and hopefully I’ll be able to incorporate yours...Here’s where it sits now:
  11. I figured he was, just wondering if anyone has one..Ive order one...
  12. Mooniacs....Has anyone installed or operated an aircraft with Flight Enhancements Auto-Lean device?
  13. Depends on how old your Bladders are. Mine were installed in 92 and the cross over tubes are about an inch off the bottom thus trapping more fuel that is unusable. The later installs the tubes were re-designed and are the bottom thus gaining more usable fuel. What you can do is take the drain off but unless you also take the covers off you still will not know how much fuel is trapped. If you do that you will(should) replace the cork gaskets.
  14. I know this is old but how was your experience with using this Hub? Any operational difficulties later?
  15. OR....You can buy a new set up from Electro Air in Mi. and get rid of the switch.
  16. The Bladder install requires some modifications as you can see. Going back would require quite a bit of sheetmetal work....adding to cost!
  17. Attach a pressure pot, you can use a clean garden sprayer with a tube attached over the end and the other end over the brake bleeder port. Get some rags or other means to catch the spill over at the reservoir. If you have a sloped windshield this might be harder. Anyway, slightly pressurize the sprayer and open the Bleeder port and the cap on the reservoir and let run over slowly. Always use clean 5606 when doing this. IF, this does not solve the issue, then the O'rings in the Flap Actuator are bypassing. The kit is about $10 from Lasar and not too difficult to replace. Goodluck.
  18. Once I flew a friends 172 to a Funeral with friends. When we came back out to fly back home it was rough and backfiring, etc. We rented a car and drove back in the night. The day I drove back down with owner and when we pulled the cowling off we discovered that one of the Intake Tube couplings had backed off just enough to cause the VERY lean issue. Under different circumstances I might have found the problem myself...
  19. Has anyone installed Bogart “Low Loss” Battery Cables? I installed them years ago in an Apache and just found out they have them for Mooney’s.
  20. Just a quick survey: Who all has had to replace Seat tracks? Not near as easy as a Cessna..
  21. My F model has one installed...I bought this F last summer and while I was prepping to ferry it home I noticed it was missing the Spad on the left side and once had the lower gear doors installed but not now and nowhere in sight. I asked the original owner but he did not recall when or even who removed them. I called Dan at Lasar and asked him about the Spad and the doors. He said that without the lower doors installed the Spad made no difference and would actually cause drag. He also mentioned that, as mentioned in other posts, unless you have an electric gear, retracting the gear must be performed ASAP as the wind loads above 80kts make it very difficult. I think that is why they were removed and forget about landing on unimproved runways. Also replacing the doors would run about $1400/pair plus the Spad.
  22. Not quite crashed but nose gear collapsed. Looking to find out what all was installed on it.
