  1. Hi John, that sounds great; I'm really looking fwd to meeting you. My wife is the doc, but she is excited to meet you (she is FP faculty in SIU's residency program). I am going to try to get a hotel north toward Green Bay. Would be happy to car pool, *but* we are not fly up until Thursday night and just catching the final weekend. Probably target Appleton for landing.
  2. I checked and wife is in UK during the Summit so doesnt matter. Might be able to do a Mid Atlantic though
  3. Thanks Clarence, that is a good breakdown of analysis approach!
  4. Hi Matt, agreed on the highly minor appearance of the filter. *New* IA agreed and has already pulled the screen & filter; they were clean as was oil analysis.
  5. ala the kid from Indiana Jones:
  6. Hi Moody! Sorry I didn't see your reply until now. @Antares had a similar recommendation and my plane is with Patty down at East Texas Flying Service. It should be out of annual mid June and so far there was nada in the screen and the "very short" .... maybe 4-5 hours oil analysis was completely clean and there was nothing in the filter. Once I personally examined the filter the metal in the filter elements was a few (maybe 5-15 fish "dust" (far smaller than say glitter...literally dust size) metal bits per pleat per pics above. Patty thought that I might have just made some metal based on the plane sitting about 6 weeks and possibly got some cylinder wall rust that caused some minor scuffing. So far no more metal. Plan is to pull/cut the filter every 10 hrs for awhile. Fingers crossed.
  7. This sucks; not fun. I got some good advise in my similar thread; my plane is still in annual awaiting an intake bellows.
  8. I think I'll save some of the "new's" for next time and plan Caravan and camping for next year. Just want to create a good time for the wife for her first experience. Looks like a very doable flight. KHAE to KATW at 2:07 and 302nm. Planing right now to leave after my wife gets off work (actually probably leave from KUIN; wife "Shawn" is a Doc and has clinic coverage in Quincy, IL) Thursday 7/22 and fly to For Du Lac or Appleton or Green Bay based on hotel/rental. Would love to connect with as many as possible at OSH, sounds like a blast and a half!
  9. My wife really wants to go and I am game, but I could use some tips. I don't see it as feasible in time remaining to start from scratch and get the training to do the Caravan so I wonder if anyone has tips on landing somewhere "close" to Air Venture and doing the hotel thing. I don't even know if that is possible from a reservation standpoint. .... Any tips? I would really like to go!
  10. I was hoping this would be available to entice my other half; doesn't look like it made the agenda. I don't suppose the other one was recorded? Planning on this one, just trying to clear the dates with spouse.
  11. Definately, but if forced, Pitch plus Power equals Performance. ... an AoA wouldn’t suck in that situation either.
  12. They are very well made; I got mine from Sabre
  13. shipped..tracking sent in PM
  14. Patty @ east texas flying service thought the engine may be fine, and the amount of metal in my filter may be due to the high humidity and the plane sitting for around 6 weeks. So, she pulled the lower screen (which was clean) and sent an oil sample in for inspection (it had < 10 hrs on it) but it came out completely clean. So ... we are on a filter every 10 hrs watch program but she thinks the engine is likely fine.... trust but verify. I definitely hope that turns out to be the case.
  15. Gracias Clarence
  16. thanks, I think the ones above are pictured for 0360 vs my IO360 but I think the above guidance is still relevant.
  17. @acpartswhse On the search for an intake bellows. IA doing annual on 1969 F model indicates that the bellows is shot. think it *may* be part 45 here based on the description.
  18. @1964-M20E Just to check, are you still looking into the CIES or do you want me to ship my old units? I'd like to do it today while I'm down in AR and can get in them in the hangar. Otherwise will be mid June +.
  19. http://www.dictionary.com/browse/vulvae I believe this was the origin of the "morning sickness" offering...
  20. @Stnelson903 Click on the mooney symbol upper left hand corner and go down to "Trading Post" and "Avionics / Parts Classifieds" and post a WTB there as well.
  21. +1
  22. Wonder if he could focus on the instruments through it. Evidently some people took umbrage at the P47 ground attack activity.
