  1. @gsxrpilot Paul, just curious on the plan on the iPad/phone vs handheld glideslope. Thinking synthetic vision via Foreflight with step-down descents or ?
  2. Foreflight icing/altitude graphics and overlays on the map (Note the time slider - bottom- and icing @ altitude slider {@7K current} - on right side) + visible moisture Metars/Forecast and * stay out of clouds* or other VI's moisture. Having had one "adventure" with icing beyond ability to hold altitude (during IFR training....also un-forecast..."where you find it" clause). My rule, if starting to get ice ***Immediately execute corrective navigation out of the icing**** .... in budding emergencies you can ask ATC for permission after the fact/while executing but airframe icing can come on unbelievably fast. Be careful out there.
  3. That is pretty sweet work!! Do they do custom garden gnomes? Thinking something to go with this:
  4. Seems like a well equipped sign shop should be able to print one.
  5. Starting to think @Stacey might not be monitoring the replies due to lack of response..
  6. Tell 'em My Mooney M20F is based in Rogers, AR... about 5 min flight time from TruTrack .... if they need a test plane. I have an STEC 60-2 currently.
  7. Here is a site with pics of the missing plane. https://www.revelstokemountaineer.com/family-missing-pilot-passenger-create-gofundme-account-keep-search-going/ Here is the Go Fund Me site for SnR; they are $36K of $40K to goal: https://www.gofundme.com/bring-dom-ash-home C-FESN Flight Aware Link (no history in last 15 days but links to aircraft reg). https://flightaware.com/live/flight/CFESN/history
  8. Used Signature at KSAV go some fuel to wave some fees. I don't remember specifics though. used their courtacy car. They were pleasant enough.

  11. Had right rear PA-28 window (admittedly much thinner) go "kaboom" .....gone . Windshield much more robust....but I would recommend replacing it.
  12. Hi Guys, There is a great thread started in Vintage ' that probably should have posted here, but you may want to take a peek and contribute....the MS's have some really interesting ground transportation Thread link:
  13. Schemp, that looks like pure fun! I have never gotten to do the sailplane thing but it is a *Big* bucket list thing....think it would be a blast!

  19. ....Pictures or it never happened...
  20. Gorgeous . the black and beige interior look ...sweet!
  21. Yeah, I've heard they had flow-back/re-freeze issues.
  22. Hey guys, got out of car to take a pick of my plane for a friend who didn't know what a "Mooney" was and it turned out kinda cool. After looking at the pic, I got to thinking that I am seeing a trend here: Efficient: Mooney - 'nuff said. C5: 80 MPH 32 MPG (seriously) awesome traveling machine. Great economics: Mooney - $$ for well equipped F model that would be $$$$ for brands C or B to duplicate capabilities 6 speed, '97 C5, basic model un-modified - $9K, it is typically about the least expensive vehicle in the parking lot. Sporty: Mooney - 'nuff said Vette - .....that got me further thinking....I wonder what my buddies on MS pair up with their Mooney. Anyone else game to post their favorite vehicle w/ their favorite plane and tell us why you dig 'em (try to get them both in the same shot if you can)????? I'll go first:
