  1. You are totally out of line here. I'd rather be a boob than an ass... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I would have been at the bar beside you. Although unlikely, concerns of a ditch in open water at night would be sufficient to keep me on land.
  3. Less back pressure = lower oil temps? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks for the chart. That solves the question regarding which long version to use. Now, any opinions regarding the benefit of the longer filter? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Clarence, What is the benefit of the long filter? I just checked and the last filter I installed was the AA48103. Do you know what long filter would replace it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. My Cessna 172N had the Receptacle mounted at the firewall. Made me nervous when the line guys had to disconnect the APU with the engine running. Never seen a receptacle at this location on a Mooney, but assume it is possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Great job! That is an incredible plane. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. I was reading another thread and saw mention of Lipo batteries. I will probably be replacing my Concorde in the next couple of months and had planned on going with another of the same. However, the idea of gaining 20 lbs of UL and probably better CCA out of lipo is intriguing. Are lipos for GA a real thing? My googling on the subject came up with a blank.
  10. I am no avionics guru, but I do believe a 3 1/8" hole is required to mount the JPI. Maybe the existing hole can be enlarged, but not sure about that.
  11. Let me preface my recommendation by saying I am not very familiar with Houston. However, I traveled there a couple of months ago and flew into Hobby. It was an approximate 12-15 minute Uber ride to downtown. The Millionair FBO and its staff were great. Fees were very reasonable as well. Icing on the cake was that there is a full (complimentary) bar upstairs with a veranda overlooking the ramp. It will be my "go to" on any return trips to Houston. I only saw one other piston aircraft during my visit to Hobby. It was a Mooney.
  12. That's a beautiful plane. Unfortunately, the weight limitations render it pretty much useless. I could get around 20 gals of fuel onboard with me, wife and 7&9 year old daughters. It's fast, but how far can you go in half an hour? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I have a cutter. It's the layout that is missing. Will need 16 corners. Here's the deal, ill cut them out if one of the more savvy ones can get the shapes in a vector file. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. +1 I would like to do the same. Love the rounded window look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Who did yours? I got a quote from a local shop today for 40-50 hours to install a KT74. I held my wallet tightly, chuckled and told him I'd call someone for a second opinion. My next call was to King tech support who said they cannot think of any contingency which would justify that much time for a transponder install. They recommended that I contact another dealer (obviously). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. More than you know. War Eagle! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. What type of setup do you use to run the plumbing from the tail to the front? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. My thought exactly. The negative pitch at the end definitely was not supported by the altimeter or airspeed indicator. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Good guys. Adam and...? I have met them on a few occasions. I'm in.
  20. I made it to PLR a couple of weeks ago for the BBQ and met a couple of the Mooney guys there (for all I know, you may have been one of them). Anyway, give me a heads up when you're heading for breakfast one morning. It would be great to meet up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. HEADSETS: My first set of headsets was the Bose A20. They set the bar high as their active noise reduction and sound quality is superb. However, I found that my ears and head would hurt from the clamping force after longer flights. I recently read on this forum about several Mooney pilots Who were using the Quiet Technologies halo headsets. For less than half the price of my Bose A20, the Halo seemed like a low risk venture. I have been using them for approximately 15 hours now and I am extremely pleased with the halo and my A20 now sits on the shelf. My only gripe was with the tips that came with the halo. The NRR factor seemed fairly low, so I replace them with some 33db NRR shooting plugs and the passive noise reduction factor of the halo is now on par with the A20. The halo is worth consideration if you are planning to utilize your Mooney for the cross-country travel it was designed for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Nobody posted a pic from straight on. Had a great time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I will be there around 11:15 with wife and 2 daughters. N201VW Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Can't wait for this to be available for single drive/dual mag models. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
