  1. What cowl mod is this on your E?
  2. You crack me up. Which way is the wind blowing today?
  3. I hope you hit the lottery here. A good excuse to do Sabre's cowl mod too
  4. I SEE what ya did there...
  5. Oh the humanity if the Volare had mated with the bug...Pacer in Puche?!
  6. Not to be outdone VW had a Bug Wagon in early 70's...Bright yellow with I will scorch your @$$ upon entry black vinyl interior. For some reason my parents thought "That's the one". Without strong self-esteem that could have destroyed a 16 year old in the High School Parking Lot
  7. We all need one of those to stay on course...
  8. Let me guess: NIOWNIT
  9. Been there, done that. Did not realize what wind was doing until I dropped in for a big bounce. I added power and salvaged the landing, but it was U.G.L.Y... Scary. Did you get the stall horn? I did on short final and pitched down, but was like what the hell is happening here. I should have added power when I got the stall horn and gone around... A few minutes later wind was fine... Be careful everybody. Glad it worked out O.K. for you.
  10. For some of you that don't "get it"...Skokie is in Illinois and Skobie likes snacks and to sound the alarm for more of the same "Big Spending" by the Feds.
  11. Skobie, I understand you are not in Illinois... I do Duats exclusively. I don't need the soft comforting voice...and we are way over due for some major cutting of the Federal Government. Close 'em down. Appologies to al those college kids that don't get a fine paying government gig...
  12. Reading that thread was like going to a Dead concert... "What a loooooooong strange trip it's been".....
  13. Flew with co-owner to Mankato, MN for a round of golf Thursday. They have a courtesy car, but "like it" when you don't keep it over 2 hours...I can't count the times I cabbed it because courtesy car was out, but partner elected to have them call a cab. Got to our destination and it was $31 bucks. One way. Good Grief. Should of walked or hitched. What a ripoff. I asked if they had Uber. NOPE. I will not be heading back anytime soon. Ever...
  14. Starfighter was/is a beautiful piece of aircraft...But those tiny wings and narrow gear wear tough on pilots. Not much room for internal fuel storage. Loved the scene in Right Stuff when Yeager takes one out for a little "joy ride".... Intense.
  15. And the sheeple keep buying what the hucksters are selling 'em.
  16. Ridiculous? Yes. And yet the game is played over and over again and again...
  17. I just want his love to be returned. Surely there is a place where a photo and discussion of his bird is the order of the day. May he find that place and have a blissful relationship. Or change the name of the sight and the monniker to reflect what it is: Mooney's of all shapes, sizes and age and the other guys that want to hang out with them. Maybe the Courts can force me to love his plane and be inclusive. Surely we can not have a type specific site. That is just wrong. I want a standard tail AND my make of plane to be included in the name of the site. I feel oppressed, my body aches...Perhaps he should sue for damages?
  18. No, since they are NOT certified they appear to also NOT be a good alternative...
  19. The one key fitting all is worth the price of admission...
  20. I am in total agreement with this post. There is a lot of Mooney Service Center Love here. Good for you all. Have at it. I will continue to have my plane serviced, as it has been for 13 years with my A&P Brian. He also works on Corporate aircraft, Warbirds, Cessna's Pipers, Beeches etc. etc...He has installed my Voltage Regulator, My Engine Monitor, My engine and prop and accessories after overhaul, my one piece belly etc. etc. He knows my plane inside and out and so do I. He installed my nosegear brass Laser insert and shimmed it last year. He does corrosion X every other year. A vintage Mooney for a "flat fee" is B.S. I change my own oil prior to annual. He supervised our interior re-do and provided a hanger to complete the task. We have a decade-long relationship. He tells it like it is and does quality work on time, everytime. I let a pro, Brittain do my altitude hold install and tank reseal. Brian did the Accu-Trak and Accu-Flite install. I trust him with my life...but verify/question, negotiate...and communicate.
  21. Hey, Spock died for humans....Logic is not always logical yeah yeah needs of the many blah, blah, blah
  22. You need to find a Comanche love site...
  23. Stereotypical B.S. See Above... I just completed my flight review with a Cirrus owner. He picked up a beautiful SR22 for what I paid for my Vintage Mooney. He stole it...He is a class act, just like his plane. I would trade him in a heartbeat. The remarks like you made reflect poorly on you...not on Cirrus Pilot/Owners.
  24. This thread just took a weird turn. Seriously, Do you think tht Cirrus pilot did not know that there was "something" Cirrusly wrong with his engine? He disregarded the dire warning that the engine was sending him. End of story. At the end of pilot training you don't know how to obtain and do a calculation for weight/balance and fuel? Come on. Do you think that a nitwit that is willing to disregard his and others safety is going to listen to your rational talk? You might make your conscience feel better...By all means say something, but your odds are a lot better at the roulette wheel.
