The masses run on bald tires in rain and snow. They focus on "smart devices" and wander in and out of their lanes 3-5' away from tons of steel traveling at double digit speed. Humans are inherant risk takers...and then everyone is surprised and sad when the domino's line up and _ _it happens. Center-line and side-line rumples and vehicles to "manage" inattention and laziness are the "new normal". AND parachutes vs. facing the reality of what is going on under the cowl. No doubt it is the plane and not the user that needs "fixing". Or not.

Stupid is as stupid does. You did the right amount of the right thing. The wife's "We'll see" response let you know she was fully aware that there is a problem with the engine. If she decides to climb in a plane that may NOT climb to chute deployment level before catastrophic failure....so be it. I find the burning of four quarts in 2.2 hours also terrifying. I would not be flying that plane without knowing WHAT is wrong. If they had gone down that is NOT an accident. The plane was telling them and they were not listening. People are goofy...to the point of being seekers of Darwin. The primary contributing cause when it went down would be "Stupid cheap bastard" for the pilot. For the wife? Same.

That is a truly awesome transformation. I thought you were joking when you posted before. Congratulations. You just gave yourself years of life on your airframe. Like our old Mooney's with a lot of work and TLC transformations that show the beauty that lies within are there...Where there is will there is a way. It is better to look good AND feel good. And darling...YOU LOOK MARVELOUS!

My flying is not a hobby. I use the aircraft primarily to travel in a 2-3 hour "Mooney-time" radius of home. I am a VFR pilot that knows my plane and doesn't take unnecessary chances with weather. I have had a lot of great weekends because of my Mooney. I say F.U. to your judging others. Judge yourself. I will respond with my thoughts on another thread regarding my wishes...NOT this one. Callous? Look in the mirror... Maintain, Train you and your plane. Statistics are just that. You can put the "odds in your favor". Holiday traffic vs. 6500 feet in my plane in VFR weather? My thinking is insensitive regarding the post title and it's message. I do not feel frustration. I feel sadness at the loss of three lives and the upheaval of those in their castle, only to have it come burning down around them. Just a sad day. Machines break. Makes me think how important maintenance, pre-flight, planning for contingencies and staying within personal minimums. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those lost and others impacted by the accident.

Line guys (when they fuel plane) about 50% of the time cock the caps. They are not flush. They are really difficult to open when this is done. Screwdriver needed to lift locking tab. The fuel cap is not getting the proper seal when cocked.... My center (at top of cap) will be full of water with a heavy rain. You need to carefully remove or water will get in tank upon removal....Not much, but a little.

I would totally enjoy having a few adult refreshments with both of you. I understand the difference and why it happened. If I saw either of them out on the street with a rifle with magazine I would be getting out of there. While I understand the basis for open carry I am not a fan...and I LOVE to shoot AR's... I do NOT deny that there is prejudice and response that is wrong in the world. My eyes are WIDE open.

Religion lost today. The definition of marriage that has been practiced for thousands of years lost today. The courts will settle out the ongoing battles that will dominate for years and years to come. I don't belong to any religious "clubs"...but I respect their right to exist and have "rules" that guide them. THEY lost today. To state otherwise is disingenuous.
