if you dont want to save some money by overhauling or repairing your current starter, you cant go wrong with the Skytech,, They are lighter, faster and have excellent customer service and warranty. -

a new starter wont help you if your old battery is dying or if your charging system is weak and not bringing your battery up to proper voltage. check out your battery first check your charging system second then check your starter for being worn out. -
I will be watching arrivals Friday night, maybe early Saturday as they fly right up the canal right in front of my house to pass over Belfair on the way to PWT.. I will be at the airport Saturday morning in time to attend the rusty pilots seminar, and hope to meet some local pilots,,, no airplane for me though...

Free Odd advice... Look UP! years ago my boss got out of his truck at work and dropped his ID on the,,, well,,, down... he looked ,, twice, then came in perplexed, others went and looked too, came back perplexed... Now it is my turn. after the normal search, I got on the ground, under the truck,,, nothing! now I turn over and look up, there between the body in a small space above the frame rail, barely sticking out,,, his ID is wedged... I got to be the hero,,, yippy! look under and in behind the control panel, mostly on his side...

Thank you for the video!!! it was very good! I have been sad because so little Airventure news has come out for us to soak up... Any and All other reports would be welcomed...

Sooo,,, youre gonna be an IFR,,, flyer!!.... I follow roads... You need to pay attention to what Hank was telling you! You already followed the wrong freeway!!... Proof... Cross reference a bunch of Other points along your path,,, otherwise you could easily be following the Wrong path!!! Then you wonder what happened to the world when the pattern of wrong clues dont come into view....

Well,, thanks for the up date and info, but,,, now you gotta post more pics and details about Plane Jane... I spent some time this morning rereading all your posts and the 2 long threads they were in, the short ones too... Your story can give the rest of us budget needing dreamers that it is possible to get your foot in the door and on the peddles in the left seat of a pretty awesome airplane.. Again I say, congratulations and I cross my fingers for trouble free and squawk free annuals!!

I hate to sound demanding,,, but if you did "film it",,, please tell me where to view it... BTW,, in the old days it was 35mm film, then they came up with the new fangled 16mm,, I understand that in the "future" they will be using 8mm film,,, and it will be in COLOR!!

We did some engine out glides in my CFIs hand propped Airkknocker,,, then slowed it way down to stop the windmill,, even better glide. Dive a little, a little more, faster,, then the windmill started up, feed it some mixture and its running again!

Rereading this thread in an hour straight this morning makes it just amazing for me to realize that this Repair is happening in only 9 Days!! This thread starts with the simple report of a poorly, rough running engine, and now,,, we are waiting to hear it run...

Any words of wisdom for a new 1964 M20E owner?
mpg replied to MTNM20E's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Im pretty sure I saw, read and called about this plane back in January myself... Im pretty sure you got it for cheep too, cause I dont even call unless the price is Very reasonable! I think your pic above is the 1 from the ad I saw in Barnstormers, so we are gonna need some new ones. I think I recognize the pic because the nose gear looks like he has been landing in mud! The mains look like the hinge points below the pucks are stuffed with hay, or grass. As for the engine I would only plan on overhauling the 2 soft cylinders. Pretty easy on the wallet, and fast turnaround. With them off, you can get your self a good look at the cam, lifters and rods, Before you make a decision about needing a bottom overhaul! -
I am honored to be the First to tell you, I am very happy for you, She is Very good looking, nice N# 91exray... Now more pics, descriptions, and a full story of you finding this beauty!

Excellent post, sounds like lots of good training, experience and Fun flying time! Keep writing like that and I will keep reading like that... I think you have a good cfi,, "THEY" can get controllers to do all the odd things for the training and get them to treat the trainees with some deference helping the trainees to not get rattled.

Alex's M20D (continuous thread)
mpg replied to Raptor05121's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
That is great that you say that,,, because, as I have said, I Know Everything!!! about Alexs new plane purchase... But none of you really smart, experienced Owners have made any comments about Alexs trials with his mechanics... I am old enough to be Alexs grandfather,,, maybe he needs some Fatherly slap on the back of his head. I dont need to own a plane to know and tell others, that in order to get things done,,, sometime you have to Ride their A$$ and be there, ready and willing to Kick them in the balls to keep working! Please All of us,,, Lets stop the derail,,, Let us talk about the Great Mooney this will turn out to be when she is done!!
