Well,,, they made it! Been listening to the so tower and watching the so. webcam.They finally called in at 11:15, started landing 7 mins later, got to see some, but the cam keeps panning, so I switched to the no. cam to see some of the taxiing to the no. 40, but the cam keeps panning,,, but They Are There,,,, let the fun begin!!!

Yes!!! I Went with a Cessna 25$ discover flight in 1978!! IT STILL WORKED OUT.. But a 8$ Mooney flight would have been gooder....

Wowwie!! It is too bad I dont really want to partner in any plane, especially an M20F! I live 7.5mi from Brem Nat and really do like those Mooneys. Maybe some day you will PM me,, I could buy you some gas and a fancy hamburger. Thats a hint... I havent been in a Mooney since 1984!

Well,,, .65 qt per hr would seem allowable on a 2000hr engine as the maximum allowed at the end of life. But we are talking about an engine that is only 800 SMOH! This consumption is announcing that it is nearing end of life. An engine using that much oil is ready for OH,,, it is "on condition".... Bad condition. Besides condition,,, this consumption means that this plane shouldnt even fly FOUR hours at a time,,,Maximum!!!

They are disclosing that because any more oil than 1qt per 7hrs is too much. They are warning that a top OH is right around the corner,, in fact the top should be OHed Now, before you get to a corner that may be a catastrophic engine failure! But it may only need a ring job and some valve work. Figure that into the price of the plane.

Well,,, One way or another,,, you are gonna have to un rivit and remove Your door... Give it to an artful sheet metal mechanic,,, A Really good guy could hammer out the bends and dents,,, good as new. Paint and re rivet it back in place. Seriously, it is not to bad to restore.

I wonder if it was a case of two very polite guys ,,, saying... after you, oh no after you sir, I insist sir after you, over and over,, inching forward, and over again, inching,,,, Until,,, two stupids either wedge each other into the same doorway,,, or,,, Waiter,,, we are gonna need two propellers and two engines! Even at idle,,, those are serious prop strikes!! wouldnt be surprised to find a broken crank shaft.. -

I had a Timex Sinclair with 16 k ram,, and a flight simulator program. Id play, fly to the highest altitude and come back to land, just before it ran out of gas!

Hey Bob - S50 Good write up.. I was used to the third dimension too,, flying from brem nat over west seattle into boeing,, under seattle tca. auburn would be a piece of cake,, did I ever tell you about my outa gas landing in a auburn pasture in the 80s? maybe we could get together some day. Wanted to add,, we can still fly the seahawks transition east or west right over seatac at 1700 msl!

Sooo since I am up all night,,, thought I might get some respect if I did some of my own research... Using the google and their maps I have found where Livermore is and its 465 sm to Gillespie,, with LA right on the way,OK.. Sooo the poster wants to make this trip and Ease his way past LA,, So his first waypoint is at 341 sm to El Monty about 24 sm E of LA,,,!!! Right through the airspace..... Then to French Valley 90 sm SE into the desert! Then SSE 36 sm to El Cajon, his destination... It strikes me that he did a pretty good of running right into the LA that he wanted to go around...

Let me be off topic,, please... Sooo, the route IDs above can be found on jep plates, after you ID the airports on your chart,,, right? Now ,,,, How or where can I find these IDS to know the simple names of places on my chart, so I also know your plan? Why dont folks just right this stuff using english so we can all follow along? Im sure there is a simple answer to my seemingly stupid question. Then I will say Doh! smack my head....

Just for fun,,, I will offer my 2 cents to an old thread asking the really odd question. A guy wants to buy a 130K plane,, then scrap 60K worth of highly desirable stuff so he can carry more stuff. Go buy an F,, get a turbo bolted on (its the only thing he didnt want to keep),,, carry 1020lbs useful load!
