  1. Give Vantage Plane Plastics a call, it’s actually 3 pieces, they had them for my 65 E but I had to call to get them
  2. My bad, I've corrected it. I also noticed that several other of -a-'s post still shows 19,955......
  3. with 45 post to go my money is on Oct. 30th @ 9:37 est......
  4. six of one, half a dozen of the other. Seems if I fill up after a flight my next one is always pushing gross, also being in S. Tx I loose some to evaporation in the summer heat. When I do fill up before putting it away in the hangar I fill to about an inch below the neck for expansion (no since in letting it puke on floor when it heats up
  5. Congrats on your new bird, I agree with the previous posters on holding off on painting the wings if it's cosmetic. There will be plenty of things to spend money on over the next year
  6. I use "Tach" time for the aircraft and my watch for me. There is also a Hobbs meter that is powered by the Master switch.
  7. The yokes are held on the shaft with a tapered bolt and a set screw, easily removed. I toke mine off for the AD inspection and had a local Hot Rod shop wrap them in leather. Another option is to have them powder coated vs painting,
  8. Here's the link HERE
  9. I would use caution installing protruded electrode plugs, might end up with a smashed plug and a damaged piston crown
  10. We were at $0.15 sgft and they upped it to $0.25, the city has a head full of ideas and shit for brains when it comes to aviation, 5 months ago everyone on the west side got eviction notices and had less than 5 days to vacate, regardless of the leases that were in place. It drives me nuts dealing with them but I might buy a few more for rentals.
  11. Check to see what kind of land lease you can get, the west side hangars at my airport are slated for removal in 9 years, they values went to shit when it was anounced, I purchased my hangar afterwards for less than 3k, it's 1600sqft and I have the Mooney and the 172 in there
  12. wouldnt it be 448 plugs or do you 16 free when buying 432?
  13. Here ya go https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/inpages/jpi_brd-fb-sleeve.php?clickkey=3890731
  14. Pretty sure the FAA uses the date the Airworthy certificate was issued
  15. (1) E, (1) G and (1) seasonal Ovation
  16. Correct, I was just saying I fit some what comfortable in a short body, so the mid body would be no problem for me
  17. 6'1" and 220#, have riden in the back seat of short body, it's not that bad and actually easier to get in and out of
  18. They (CFI) needs to be able to demonstrate the maneuver
  19. Yep, same boat, can't seem to find a CFI (that I like) with Mooney time. The one I used for my IR is now a DPE and stays busy out of town. With the rule change I'm considering knocking the Commercial and CFI out in the Cessna
  20. Removing the bulb makes it in-op, it would be better to disable the system by killing the power to it
  21. FYI, It's a Stat-O-Seal
  22. Why? In the end the FSDO is going to look at your logs and your plane so might as well get it over with. If you think the FAA is out to get you, you damn sure don't want them pissed as well
  23. We (GA) still have an average of 1 a week that try to get an internal combustion engine to run on air. The FAR's state what the reserves are for the type of flight. Personally I use 1 hour, yep on long x-countries I stop more than I should but I'm not in that big of a hurry or i would have gone commercial. Knowing exactly how much fuel and where its at is a huge plus if your going to push the minimums but for me, a "Stick & Watch" gets me to my next fuel stop, besides I would much rather stretch my legs than my fuel. Oh and if mother natures calls, I land as well.
  24. Never been smacked (knock on wood) by one, but I have raised up into a few hard enough to rotate the engine 15 to 20 degrees. I agree with others, turning the prop by hand should only be done when absolutely necessary. As far as wiping the oil off things, it wont wipe anymore than actually starting the engine. Radial guys pull their motors through to ensure the bottom cylinder(s) haven't filled with oil and hydro-locked the motor...should have a nice bruise by morning if not already
  25. FAA shows it to be registered to Otto B. Pullman, 2500 N 900 W STE 10, Logan Utah, 84321-1709
