  1. My neighbor at the air park is selling his Mooney as he moved to another plane. His name is Kevin Dey and his email is deycorinc@gmail.com You can contact him directly Here is what he says about the plane: 1982 Mooney J N1124E Asking $95,000 TTAF 2735 TTE 850 NDH Speed brakes Long Range Tanks ( all tank resealed month ago) Stand By Vac, Tanis Heater, Strike Finder New prop New windshield New biscuits, brakes, tires Century 32 GNS430 KX155 EI engine monitor PM1000 intercom Paint and interior 8 Oil samples last 10 years
  2. YouTube is the answer.
  3. It could be simple,it could be hard. I tried to resolve similar issue with my EI engine monitor. It was pretty bad when transmitting on certain frequency range from both COMs literally wiped the screen off. It happened after my GTN 750 was installed. I went to the extend of taking everything apart, running new shielded wires, ground everything everywhere, install new engine ground strip, repositted transducers and pressure sensors. It helped but it didn’t go away completely. I still can see sometimes quick flicker on the monitor screen when transimmitng on 13x.xx frequencies from my GTN 750. I just live with it now.
  4. Which breakers / fuses you have color coded? Why ? Do you keep the list or color legend somewhere in the plane? Thanks
  5. All good after hurricane. Most people stayed. We got direct hit 135 mph. The Shadow wood are apartments ( north ) and condos ( south) but those are not part of the airpark. There is a gate right north of the apartments on the Skyway drive. The golf courses around here are public and private. Yes, Skyway dr is a taxiway and the road as well. Every house ( except few) has a hangar.
  6. We are at the Wing South Airpark, Naples. During the last year the average age went down as we have some younger ( airline) pilots ( in their 40s - 50s) to buy houses and moved in. Lots for sale still available. Currently 44 houses. Not too big not too small. 4400' paved lighted runway in excellent condition. The pics are from the last year fly in.
  7. I have two independent magnetos. My engine is IO360A3B6. I didn’t have spacer installed. So I am assuming it is not required for this engine, right?
  8. My governor was leaking a little since overhaul. It was totally fine before overhaul. Well, ... Anyway, after last flight I found puddle of oil under the plane and sure enough the governor leaks much more. I have removed it today. What a pain in the neck. Since it is too close to the firewall I also had to remove upper engine mount bolts in order to lower the engine and remove it from the engine. I didn't see any obvious cause of the leak. But there is a bracket that is attached and secured by the screws that hold governor's body together. So you have to remove three screws from the governor, attach the bracket and put the screws back. I suspect that could be the cause of the leak since there is probably a lot of vibration from that bracket. I am sending the governor for re-seal or maybe overhaul again. Any experience or suggestions before I put it back? Any good governor shop in Florida? I used Aviation Propellers Opa Locka before. Thanks
  9. Based on this topic I have buil my ADS-B today. The only reason to have it is to spy on my buddies. I will use on the ground only. I put my antennas in the attic but I don’t get any weather. I guess you have to be up there to get the weather by FIS-B. Is there any other way to get it ? I use FltPlan Go to display it. I am connected to Stratux by WiFi and that eliminates connection to the internet. Any ideas? Thanks.
  10. One thing that I gained and it is big deal for me is the GPSS steering. Before I had to turn the HSI needle every time my GTN told me to do so. Now it’s hands off. I tried different approaches, holding patterns, procedure turns and it just works perfect. It figures out on its own the entry to the holding pattern and makes all,the turns very smoothly.
  11. G5 can’t drive the AP that requires input from AI. That’s why I had to keep my vacuum system and vacuum driven AI. I have Century IIB AP.
  12. Ok. I am going to try it tomorrow. I need volunteer base jumper. Anybody? It will be a little bit harder since the baggage door is a little smaller.
  13. Funny folks in AZ. Nice effort anyway. Thanks.
  14. I didn’t even know there is the sniffle valve. Yes, the fuel comes from the hose connected to the location where the valve would be. Good point, A. I’ll check with my mechanic. Thanks.
  15. Normal oil consumption. Engine cuts off normally in idle and mixture cut off I will have mechanic to look at it. Thanks
  16. Jim, thanks for the response. Yes, it is the hose from the intake drain. Every time I check it it has a drop of fuel ( or oil fuel mix) on the end. The other hose coming from the fuel pump is dry. No sign of any liquid coming from it. The breather tube has drop of oil on its end too but I consider it normal. IO 360 A3B6 90hrs after OH. No other problems except higher level of chromium in the oil analysis report after OH.
  17. How did he know you are late with your biannual? Did he ask for the logbook? Do you carry your logbook with you all the times? Is it required?
  18. Attached is the picture of what is collected after few flights in my oil dripping pan. Part of it is regular oil from the breather but the blue/green stuff that looks and feels like gas and oil mix comes from the hose that is connected to the bottom of the crankcase. Any ideas? Thanks
  19. What’s the G speed 87 kts?
  20. Today's trip to Bahamas. Great Harbour Cay - Big Whale Cay - Bimini. I didn't feel like editing tonight.
  21. It was discussed here many times and you can search different topics. People like to use MAPA manual numbers. I also started with those and then simplyfied my procedure. I plan descent pretty early. No speed brakes. I want to be at the IAF altitude ( before I reach the IAF) around 120 kts - 20" usually 2300 RMP. Speed still bleeding off in this point. As I reach IAF I usually go 18" and 2300 RPM ( RPM setting from the cruise. Sometimes I go 2500 RPM in preparation for missed. No real difference here). It slows me down to 115kts. I keep this on my descent to the FAF. At the FAF I drop the gear and first notch of flaps. It slows me down to 95-100kts and gives me 500 fpm descent with nice attitude. And I go all the way down. Full flaps if not too windy. I used to slow down ( 13-15" MAP) before I reached MAP but I don't do it anymore as I figured out that there is enough time and room to slow down to 75-80KTS even from the minimums to the runway. Works for me.
