  1. Yes. What does that have to do with anything I said? AIM 3-2-5 (e) Separation for VFR Aircraft. No separation services are provided to VFR aircraft. Controllers at class D airports do not provide separation services to VFR aircraft in class D airspace. They are only responsible for the surface areas but may provide traffic advisories and suggestions depending on workload and what kind of equipment and certification they have.If you want IFR services the cost of admission is an IFR flight plan.
  2. if it's class D it doesn't matter. they are not responsible for the airspace.
  3. this is the big thing for me. Always seems they want to take 3 fat folks and 150lbs of bags.
  4. I did some pilots and paws runs, I found it to be more difficult to organize than moving people, I'm an angel flight west pilot. I find thm much more organized and respectful of my time.
  5. Our 231 is at bjc. Once it's out of the shop maybe.
  6. Telluride is on the western edge. I'm on the eastern edge on the front range. It's bad times with howling upper winds 2 nights parking plus ramp runs about 40 dollars. But hotels and everything else get much more expensive in the winter.
  7. Winds aloft across the rocks make the ride pretty not worth it plus limited ramp space. Oh, and everything is more expensive.
  8. either way it's about one of the easiest of the ski country airports really. I was in this summer and a guy in a malibu landed and let the fire go out on the runway and couldn't get it started again. My PAX didn't appreciate maneuvering around that valley much trying to make time for him to get off the runway. I won't go near that place in the winter though.
  9. TEX they leveled the hump out 4 or so years ago... but the CO DOT aeronautics division I think is a lot more active than whatever some other states have.
  10. I'm just jealous you have a flap backlight. we don't.
  11. I can't imagine there's a better performance bang for the buck out there. Can't be.
  12. Will PeeVee care? Oh, I know this one. The answer is no.
  13. the only apple device I own is my ipad mini. I run wing x and the android version isn't as good. Maybe next time I'm ready to upgrade it will be.
  14. hey let me email you my updated phone number. You must have got it wrong.
  15. apparently it has it's issues. nevertheless, datalink is coming, just slowly.
  16. Because it says so, right on the page? Description: E-Z Breathe kit for MH-XCP and other constant flow systems. Note: This is not a conserving devise. When using with constant flow systems, facemask settings must be used
  17. I thought someone, maybe MH, made a similar version that was an oxygen saving device. That thing will chew through the o2 if you have to use mask settings with it.
  18. I think the drawing was yesterday
  19. pee breaks or what?
  20. you mentioned gaps west of denver, not north in UT and WY... Though coverage is also not bad there, either, and it's by in large desert.
  21. that is the entirety of the colorado rockies....minus a hole around cortez. But hey what do I know, I just look at it all day.
  22. I disagree. Maybe around Alamosa but for the most part the coverage is pretty good, unless it's blocked by rocks. We do get a lot of dry cells that nexrad won't paint however.
  23. In the winter across the colorado rockies there are often bizjets that can't top the wave action at 410, 430, or even 450.
  24. You don't necessarily need a pd descent for that. Descent rate is somewhat pd, but you should advise atc per the aim when it'll be a slow climb or descent. (less than 500 fpm aim 4-4-10) Just ask for lower when it works out for your planned rate. Since pd gives you the authority to level off at any altitude the controller might be hesitant to give you what amounts to a 15k plus block of altitude, but you can ask for lower and advise a slow descent. They will appreciate the heads up on rate, both up and down
  25. Not 200, but 180. Hard to see, tried out 185 to 190ish, let's be honest the tas on the ai isn't that accurate. Hard to see, dirty glass and glare.
