  1. I'd jump on it for less than the cost of a mag overhaul. Hopefully they get it to market.
  2. Fancy, I just look at the chart and fill based on oat. I don't know how to do the math to say how your 75cuft will fill but if you own the tanks airgas will let you pay the difference for 330s if you decide later you need more. Ours are on a big cart and I don't find them to be terribly difficult to move but it takes two people to lift if you need to
  3. No turbo, no care.
  4. my nose gets super dry and cracks.
  5. 125cf tanks won't last long. We use two 330CF and get several fills. Here are the instructions from our transfil rig. o2 fill instructions.pdf it's basically fill as slowly as you can and watch your pressures as already mentioned. I put an inline valve in between our tanks and the plane so I can close it off and see what my tank pressure is. Be sure to use clean wrenches, no oil on them.
  6. I'm curious also, I'd be game to have ours irand
  7. what are you looking for in terms of your mags, plugs, and wires? How often do you clean your plugs?

  9. Ram recommends w100 in summer and i think most consider them the leading authority on big bore Continentals. W80 for winter. http://www.ramaircraft.com/Maintenance-Tips/Oil-Recommendations.htm
  10. I do not believe so
  11. What is it with this place and paint lately.
  12. mucho drifto, but my favorite is grays and torreys. I don't get much further west, have to leave too early!
  13. I need to be better at listening when the plane is trying to tell me something.
  14. I'm slow as balls but I trudge up the 14ers.
  15. a few folks have switched over to ETA from klixons and might have used switches. Like @testwest he hooked me up with a strobe switch a year or so ago.
  16. LOL the pikes peak cog is hilarious to ride up and watch the flatlanders turn colors. I get up to the top and hop around from rock to rock taking pics, it doesn't phase me. Several hours or a lot of exertion and it would flatten me I'm sure, but I've hiked plenty of 14ers. Just the difference in going up 8k feet from normal and 14k feet from normal. I've been slacking on working out, that made the biggest difference.
  17. I really recommend the o2d2 from mountain high (or the precise flight setup) it saves o2 and alarms if the flow stops due to o2 not flowing or if it's not triggering from breathing, you turn it on and leave it and it manages your o2 automatically. I just got one finally and I'm super happy with it.
  18. living at altitude and your cardio health make a huge difference for me. I can go the legal 30 minutes and be fine from 12,5-14,000 and then must comply. If I've been doing my elliptical workouts my sats won't drop much. x2 on the oximiters. I see them sold under a million brands and they're all the same design probably from the same factory in china.
  19. Thanks! I think they're identical left to right and I'll have to paint it anyway. Though the part number is stamped on the side facing the rear of the plane. Doesn't matter, I'll make it work either way
  20. Yikes. Glad it all worked out.
  21. That's exactly it except the left wing. Or I'd take both for the spare parts.
  22. Gnb is pretty easy as far as mtn airports go. Lots of busy airspace around cos, I'd avoid it all but that's just me. As you said, depart 27. It's a big valley and you have a lot of room to maneuver and climb. Corona pass is right there to the se, depending on where you're coming from you could head up over bjc and then hit Rollins/Corona, it's an easy to make at 12,5 pass but that might run you afoul of my suggestion to avoid the military and training happening around cos and puts you along the rocks where it will be bumpy. Due west of gnb is twin peaks and some pretty high terrain but there's a pass there too, the name escapes me. Be there around or before noon. It's an easy shot up that valley to a lot of other airports too. 27 is right pattern, hill in the way of left. There's a little shack with keys to a loaner car. It's a ragged out Ford suv that used to be a police car. Co dot has a free map with preferred routes and the Colorado pilots association website has good suggestions. I've flown turbos too long and lost my edge on my flying. In a 231 I'd just file 180 and cancel round about Denver and start down to cross Corona at 13ish and maneuver in a big arc around the west side to join a 45 for 27 right downwind. But I'm lazy. I go to lava Java cafe for breakfast, it's good but not mind blowing. Gnb is a 20 minute flight or 3 hour drive from me so it's fun to take people there.
  23. Home today, u42 to Denver. Finally a nice tail wind after 9 days of headwinds. Pushed it up to normal cruise for a bit, should have stayed in economy, cost too much fuel. Nice to be home.
  24. So, to update my previous rant about Heber City 36u they waived one night parking with fuel purchase. I took on 28 gallons at 6.35 a gallon and paid 25 to park and 4 to land for a total of approx $206. Waiving one night of parking knocked the fuel cost down enough that it wasn't worth jumping 60 miles west to get fuel at 2 bucks cheaper. I didn't need much to get home. Oh? Don't mind if I do! Except airnav comments are disabled!
