  1. The windup clock in my 67C yoke still works after 50 years. Amazing! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. In 6 years of C ownership in Florida flying in all kinds of conditions I think I may have had carb icing once, but I'm not sure. It ran a little rough so I pulled carb heat and it seemed to help. It could have been something else. I don't use carb heat in my C except during run up to make sure it works in case I need it. 3. Alex, Congrats on starting your instrument rating. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Thread has been dead for a long time. I have not heard from him in a couple of years. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Amen! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. There was a guy today in the Mooney Facebook group looking for a C. This is one of the nicest looking C's I have seen. Beautiful! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. My C came with a switch on the panel to turn the PC system on and off. I still have the switch on the yoke to disable the PC if the switch on the panel is on. For takeoff and landings PC remains off. During cruise it is on. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Nice looking bird! I know you are going to enjoy it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. I thought the departure was very quick and efficient. I did a quick run up as I taxied to the runway which required not much braking in the grass and I was off the ground in less than 5 minutes from the north 40 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Peter I don't disagree the passenger should have cooperated. I doubt many of us would have refused to vacate and allow a cop to drag us out kicking and screaming. The airline was plain stupid in not realizing the PR nightmare this would lead to, not to mention the multiple law suits, and potential fines still to come. There was no bigger fish to fry than to keep this from happening and they failed miserably. They could have resolved this 100 different ways but opted for the worst possible choice. There are times when a passenger must be removed because he is clearly a danger to others. This is not the case here and the use of force was completely unnecessary Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. You are responsible for making sure the flight is conducted in a safe manner. I have no problem saying unable if they are vectoring me into what I perceive is an unsafe situation. Likewise I will deviate as needed if I perceive I'm in danger. Obviously we need to try and work within the system in a responsible way and I'm the first to offer ATC any deviation that makes their job easier, as long as it does not put me in harms way. Personally, I have not had a deviation for weather denied. In a few cases we have 'negotiated' a deviation but that's perfectly find in order to find a solution that works for both you and ATC. It's a partnership. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Yes the airlines gamble with overbooking all the times because it makes perfect sense. But when you gamble sometimes you lose and have to pay the price. Offering $800 that the customers can only spend in United Airlines tickets works most of the time but not always. When that does not work you need to start offering cold hard cash and I guarantee you there will be takers. The decision to drag this guy out of the airplane while the passengers filmed to whole thing was pure stupidity. What where they thinking! Unfortunately for United, stupidity comes at a very high cost as they will soon find out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Welcome aboard. 67C here too. 67 was a great year for Mooneys. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Went there early this morning to see if I could snag it. It was sold already. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. M100?? First I've heard of a designation for the follow on aircraft to the M10. Any details? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. There is one based out of KCRG in Jacksonville FL. He is a P-8 driver in the Navy but don't think he is in Mooneyspace Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Bob, very sorry to hear this. Just terrible. Prayers. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. I would have to agree here. Wait a bit to see what comes out within the next year with regards to TrueTrack and Trio autopilots. By the time you install a wing leveler and purchase and install an Accutrack and have it wired to your nav systems you'll be in $5K easily. Within a year or so you might be able to purchase a much more capable AP with altitude hold for about the same or a tad more. I love my Britain AP and it works wonderfully and reliably, but if I was going to start from scratch I would wait a bit for the better APs like TrueTrack or Trio Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Alex, I have to go to San Diego on business but I'll be back Thursday night and I plan to drive down Friday Morning (staying at my Bother in laws house right in Lakeland). I got a couple of other friends flying in and I was going to pick them up Friday evening and take them to dinner in town. Let me know if you want to come along. I should be able to squeeze a couple more in my expedition. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. You will have a great time. As the date of departure gets near pay attention to the forecast for Oshkosh. You may need to prepare for both hot and cold. Last year I needed a blanket for a couple of days and a small battery fan for another couple of days. As you taxi on the grass pull that yoke back as far as it will go to lighten the nose. 21. I'll be there Friday and Saturday Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. She's a beauty!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Same here (tempest). I have 300 hours on them and never any issues with fouling Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Mine will turn off. Your doesn't ? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. Alex, I have the LEDs and my dimmer works but the range of dimming is limited. I'm not sure if my LEDs are as bright as yours but turned all the way down mine are ok but on a pitch black night I would like to see more dimming. I can move one of the torpedo lights away from the panel and that helps but it's not an ideal solution. One possible solution, given that my torpedo lights still have the original red lens, is to somehow darken that lens, or use two of them, or apply a darker plastic film to the lens. It would cut down on the lumens and get my dimmer in a more usable range. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
