  1. Past hour
  2. The jungle store also has 2 different tire talc bottles for sale Both 1pound
  3. The wemacs are glued in, but the duct tubing that connects to them has clamps similar to hose clamps (I replaced them with regular hose clamps when I reinstalled). So you can drop the headliner down enough to release the clamps and then remove it.
  4. Lasar not have the new ones? -Don
  5. Today
  6. Are you guys saying there’s no way to remove the headliner without cutting around the wemac vents? I was contemplating removing it topaint it, but maybe it’s easier left in place? If so, did you just carefully mask up the entire cabin and paint it in place? That seems difficult as well…
  7. Hello, in need of a down lock block for our F model. P/N 560006-003. Please let me know if anyone has a good used or new one available. Thanks! 717-809-9899
  8. "Window trim/beading doesn't work...paint is not quite right....parts not here when promised...". and " I'd like to get this across the finish line. It's been too long!" OK now you sound more like a normal Mooney owner working on their 40+ year old plane. Someone on a different MS topic said that they estimate how long it will take to work on their Mooney and multiply by three (3)....
  9. Yesterday
  10. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/xtra-seal/xtra-seal-powder-tire-talc/xts0/14550
  11. Exactly (I used to own one.)
  12. I remember reading it, but couldn't find it. Is that the Spruce bag, or amazon?
  13. Hank, see my Aug. 27 post. That cheap bag of tire talc is enough to supply an entire GA airport for about 10 years!
  14. No matter how you eventually resolve this, let us know. I’m sure others will eventually benefit from your unfortunate experience.
  15. Because I broke yours and I ate the cost of the 2 Rpm version before I figured out I bought the wrong one, and then I ate the cost of the other one. So I’m pretty well-versed.
  16. Time to get back at it. If the window edge trim/beading that I ordered doesn't work, this may be a source. https://www.harfington.com/collections/u-shaped-sealing-strips-c-301896?pickers=%7B%7D&cateId=301896&isFilterSoldout=1 I was ready to install the overhead console as they are painted but I realized the paint is not quite right. There is what I can best describe as shadows in it so I bought a quart of paint and will see if I can do better with a spray gun than rattle cans. Thankfully the paint shop was able get the supplies needed this morning and made me a quart. The carpet was supposed to be here before the end of September... hopefully it gets here this week. I have no significant out of town travel plan over the next two weeks and I'd like to get this across the finish line. It's been too long!
  17. She’s been a great first plane for me, kept it for 12+ years
  18. Still for sale. Digging through storage to find all the old logbooks this weekend.
  19. You are correct that Johnson and Johnson baby powder is now corn starch Talc is available in the pharmacy if you look around or buy it from Spruce
  20. Piper Aztec comes to mind.
  21. Quick tube question: I'm about to replace my main tires, and remember reading recently about talc. Checked my baby powder bottle, it's corn starch and has no talc. How can I find real talcum powder these days? or should i just use the new no-talc baby powder?
  22. My renewal notice
  23. Absolutely correct. Blancolirio's latest video features this particular accident (he starts with 'Well, here we go again' in reference to reporting for the 4th time this year a fatal accident involving an open door), which included an excerpt from the SIMCOM C340 training manual that states, "Should a nose baggage door open during takeoff, it is not like that contact with the propeller would occur, nor should any unusual handling qualities be evidenced. If this emergency should occur during the takeoff roll and sufficient runway remains to safely abort, the airplane should be slowed and stopped. If this emergency should occur after takeoff and/or insufficient runway remains to safely abort, airspeed should be maintained below 120KIAS and return to the airport for landing should be made as soon as practical." Further information in the training manual indicates the C340 has robust rear door locking mechanisms due to the aircraft being pressurised. Earlier I edited this post adding that a mate of mine who used to own a C340 told me he thought an open nose door will affect controllability. In case anyone noticed the edit, after viewing the video I removed the edit from the post back to what I originally wrote.
  24. What plan? I can renew premium today for the same as Jan 2025, with a pro-rated credit. Still $370. -dan
  25. That photo is of the nose wheel. All nose wheels on Mooneys of our vintage have bent metal stems (AFAIK). The correct tube is a TR67A, a 500x5 tube. The TR87 is the short-stem version.
