Does anyone have the left plastic side panel for a 64 model that they would like to sell?  Mine are cracked and appear to be a hopeless cause to try to fix. Has anyone tried repairing them and then covering them with something like ultra leather?  After several have posted nice looking photos of their interiors have got me ready to get going on my 50 year old bird.

Thanks.  Looks like they have it.  I'll give them a try.  Has anyone used their products.  I have to imagine that there will be some trimming involved, but it shouldn't be too bad.

Some 5-6 years ago I’ve replaced pilot side panel and door panel using Plane Plastic parts

Not much trimming was needed (IIRC) and panels were superior to original panels or new LASAR Aft window frames I’ve ordered when converting M20F side windows to “201” configuration.

Since I had to replace those panels, I removed the old vinyl cover and fitted the new “Ultra leather”. I’ve used SEM plastic paint to re-spray and get the color I wanted.

With the help of my wife (she did the double stitching and such), result was really good. After all the years, interior wears well and looks preentable.

I might be able to post few pictures after a weekend; we’re flying to Tahoe in few hours…

Thanks igor.   I did drop by the SEM booth at OSH and got info on their products for painting trim.  Good to hear that the Plane Plastics panels are superior products to originals.  Can you or someone else enlighten me on what you have done with the panels forward of the side panels, that being where your legs would be.  I've not pulled them yet, but it looks almost like a cardboard material underneath.  Both sides are getting pretty "droopy" and will also be replaced.

When we redid 7929v, we used plane plastics for the side panels and the panel. The lower side panels (cardboard) we cut out from new plastic using the old as patterns and covered with leather. It came out pretty nice. The plane plastics parts were superior in fit and quality to the originals.

Hmm…

My 67 and your 64 might have different panels. I have plastic side kick panels and those were in decent condition, so I kept them and re-sprayed with SEM gray paint. Above those there are carpet “side panels” that are backed by thick cardboard of some sort – I haven’t changed that yet..

I also bought new Nose wheel well panels and floor panel between seats – the later required trimming the cutout for Johnson bar boot.

Good luck
