Oscar Avalle Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 What did you replace it with? Quote
jetdriven Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 Two-blade scimitar. I bet you pick up 3-4 knots. report back Quote
N33GG Posted October 13, 2012 Author Report Posted October 13, 2012 Cruise up about 7 knots. Still having hard time believing it, but true. Much less performance on takeoff, but not an issue where I fly. Very slow acceleration until about 60 knots, and then the prop kicks in. A little strange at first, but now I am used to it. The prop just doesn't seem to be efficient at low airspeed, but also seems to perform amazingly well at cruise. Quote
Oscar Avalle Posted October 28, 2012 Report Posted October 28, 2012 Did you have to change your governor too? Quote
N33GG Posted October 28, 2012 Author Report Posted October 28, 2012 Same governor. Just change prop and spinner. Flew to Lubbock and back today to visit my son at Texas Tech. Beautiful day to fly, and still amazing performance with this prop. As they say, your mileage may vary. The 3-blade on my C may have just been a poor match. Quote
anAscendancy Posted October 28, 2012 Report Posted October 28, 2012 Still for sale? Will that prop work with my io 360 E model? Quote
N33GG Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 Still for sale. I don't know about the E 360, but I will ask Don Maxwell tomorrow and let you know. Quote
N33GG Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 I spoke with Don. Yes, the prop will work fine with the E-Model IO-360. It will only require a slight change to the pitch stop on the prop which is simple. Other than that, good to go! Quote
