Just wanted to share with you all that the main data conversion scripts of the forums has been completed.  The developer is moving onto the image galleries next.  Attached is a shot of what the forums main page looks like.

If the attachment is a little small here is a link to the preivew (note it is just a picture, not something you can actually interact with!)

Looks good Craig.  I do hope you can continue with the Mooney and MooneySpace logos.  Thank you for your efforts.

Indeed - this is just a data preview.  In fact the site you are looking at is just a testbed - not the live version of the site.

In fact, attached is the "live" site as it sits now, void of data.

I plan to keep paying this developer to help me modify the base IPBoard platform as well - I want to have a consolidated home page like we have now as well as the ability for users to write articles, etc.

Craig:
Someone once said Americans always want to be recognized for their anonymous good deeds.  Well, I sent it in today and you can consider half as donation from Becca and I, and half as a tax for being a contrarian and a "brown bottle comment" pain in the ass.   :)  If you ever need more, just ask. See you next year at OSH.    Byron

Looking good. Was wondering if we will be able to link photos in the main text box instead of attaching them as we do now?

thanks

Wow! I can't believe I missed this whole thread altogether.  I stopped looking at the threads up high on the forums page because it's always people having the same problems. I just found out about this wonderful news only because Mitch mentioned it in another thread. Wow! this is going to be great.

I don't have a PayPal account, so I'm putting a check in the mail. People must think I'm a total deadbeat since I've been silent on this thread and I was one of those suggesting going to different software and us all pitching in a long time ago. Seriously, I just now found this thread.

Way to go Craig!Cool

Strange performance. Previous read posts don't go away the way they used to. The dot or star on the left side is either faded or missing...

It began last night, and continues today....

I think I may be pushing an incorrect button setting up for an unexpected result....

Best regards,

Odd. Well, we are moving to a new server in the next few days I hope that will help.

Hopefully that means we can save lots more PM's and pictures, Craig.

That is exactly why. Currently we have a 2GB limit on this host and are at 2.1GB. The new host is 30GB - should take us a while to grow into those pants! Cost was twice as much as what is paid now (plus $400 to buy the forum software outright) but the current host wanted more than that just to bump up to 5GB.

Or . . .
You could just keep the money.
It's the least that we can do.

Agreed, My avatar may indicate new member, but I was on here earler for almost the entire life of the website. I certainly got much more out of it that anything I might be able to throw in for support.

Count me in, whatever you decide.

I have been getting Error 404 Page not Found for several days now. I was not able to open the website for two or three days then yesterday I got on briefly while it seemed others had been posting at times I got this error. It was down all Friday and Saturday but I also see there were others posting during that time.

Is this a problem or was the website legitamately offline ?

I frequently get an error on my phone, but can scroll down and click on a recent topic. From there, the Forum button works. Unless you're having a different problem?

I am guessing this is from some ISPs that are hanging on to some really old DNS data. If you were to try and access the old server you would get a 404 error - which would likely happen because your ISP is holding the old IP address (or even a local network router or computer in your house could cache this in theory).

A check of this - if you open a DOS Prompt (Command) window and type in: "nslookup mooneyspace.com" it will tell you the IP address it thinks that is. It should be 198.74.57.200.

My browser of choice is Firefox but when I bring up Mooneyspace in IE 8 it just displays the sites header information with nothing else. Is there a compatibility setting that I need to set?

Not sure on that one Flyboy. I have tested it in IE9 and it looks good. You might try flushing out your IE cache as well.

IPBoard is such popular forum platform I would be surprised if it did not work with IE8...
