William Munney Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 Folks: There is a tone associated with the pilot disconnecting the Garmin GFC 500 Autopilot. And also one if disconnects by itself. I am hearing it through the cabin speaker but not the headsets….which is where i need to hear it. Remote Audio Panel with GTN 750. I hear it through the cabin speaker regardless of whether or not i have the cabin speaker selected on the audio panel. Any thoughts? Quote
NickG Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 Did this just happen and it was working normally before? Make sure your aux input is activated on the remote audio panel Quote
William Munney Posted May 2 Author Report Posted May 2 Is the “aux input” a switch physically on the remote audio panel? In the rear of the airplane? Or is it a virtual button in the menus somewhere on the GTN 750? Thank you for your reply Quote
Pinecone Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 FYI, as far as I know the remote audio panel is mounted behind the upper half of the 750. I think (I don't have one) you configure everything through software. Quote

I'll be out at my plane tomorrow and I'll take a picture for you. Quote

Are you sure it is the cabin speaker and not one of the sonalerts right next to it? As far as I know, the GFC500 can be setup to use either an unswitched input on the audio panel or a sonalert? Not even sure i know what the sonalert is. This is a sonalert and they are usually found in the headliner https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/mallory-sonalert-products-inc/SC628/528117?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20243136172&gbraid=0AAAAADrbLljtqKzdY1F07G4jrYwAljSoQ&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_dbABhC5ARIsAAh2Z-QAu73TkYoeYWmq2_WSYAzX_zz1wTeedtPXkY2V3BaNxCSZ7n3wGiUaAsgrEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds Quote
Aerodon Posted May 5 Report Posted May 5 I checked the manuals - the GFC must be connected to a son alert if it is not connected to an unswitched input on the audio panel. Then the GTN750 allows you to vary the volume of both the headset and speaker levels for unswitched audio 1 thru 4. So it is quite feasible to get unswitched alerts on your speaker and have the volume way down on the headsets. Or vice versa. And quite easy to fix in the settings. I learn something new everyday.
