Mobius708 Posted February 21 Report Posted February 21 Hello all, does this mast installation look correct? I had a recent encounter with -FZRA/ice pellet mix, and it appears to have quickly (30 seconds) lead to an incorrect fuel level indication on the right tank. Both the analog cockpit and wing gauges agreed that I lost half a tank within a minute, so I knew something was off. Quote
takair Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 Looks about right. Is it in line with the vent, such that ice impacts the mast before the vent? Be sure your vent isn’t partially blocked to begin with. If I recall correctly there are two tubes that make up the vent, inner and outer…. Quote
A64Pilot Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 (edited) Blocking a vent should not change level indication, unless and this would be an extreme event but unless it was blocked and over time the pump pumping fuel out pulled such a vacuum that it collapsed the bladders. I have seen a metal fuel tank crushed from a blocked vent though so it can happen. Edited February 22 by A64Pilot 1 Quote
jetdriven Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 the vent is supposed to bend forward behind that mast Quote
