Mcstealth Posted Sunday at 05:43 AM Report Posted Sunday at 05:43 AM I will be doing an owner assisted annual on my Darter. Thru bad planning. crappy weather, vacations and birthday, I am now 1.5 months out of annual. Do I need a ferry permit to get my plane to the AP? Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted Sunday at 01:09 PM Report Posted Sunday at 01:09 PM They approve those all the time. You just need an A&P to sign off that it is safe to fly. 1 Quote
0TreeLemur Posted Sunday at 04:01 PM Report Posted Sunday at 04:01 PM I experienced the same problem a few years ago. Some FSDO offices require an inspection by a designated inspector. The FSDO here in Alabama required me to pay for an inspector to travel to my hangar, walk around the aircraft, peruse the logs, and sign off on the ferry permit. The charge was ridiculous - about the same as what a DPE would charge for a check ride. Hopefully your FSDO doesn't have such a rule. Best to check with them first. It varies from one FSDO to the next. 1 1 Quote
Hank Posted Sunday at 04:34 PM Report Posted Sunday at 04:34 PM @0TreeLemur, just wow! On my side of the state, the nearest A&P to my base (the IA who now does my annuals) signed off on the ferry permit and off I went to see Joey Cole. No problem, he charged me for an hour of his time. Life is good in the country! War Eagle! 2 Quote
