NewMoon Posted January 9, 2025 Report Posted January 9, 2025 So prior to buying my current M20R, my wife and I were part of the PA-46 community. We hosted a couple of 2 day fly-ins with the community that were quite fun and provided some great social networking and hangar talk opportunities. We are trying to judge interest in such an event at KPGD. There is a great resort close to the airport that could host us. Fly in on Friday, fly home Sunday. My wife and I will can handle all the logistics like transportation, lodging and and couple fun events. Please let me know your thoughts. https://www.sunseekerresorts.com/?utm_source=googlelisting&utm_medium=organic 1
buddy Posted January 10, 2025 Report Posted January 10, 2025 Sounds like fun I’m in. I might change my mind… ForeFlight comment section - KPGD $15 landing fee and $75 overnight fee.

Pinecone Posted January 10, 2025 Report Posted January 10, 2025 What dates are you looking at? Will you work a group rate for the resort? If so, I suggest that it allows Thursday arrival and Monday departure. I am interested in attending, if the weather lets me get there.
NewMoon Posted January 10, 2025 Author Report Posted January 10, 2025 Thx for the responses. I'm sure I can make something happen on any fees at the airport. I'll be trying to negotiate a rate at the resort depending on the number people we have. Thinking Friday to Sunday. Obviously folks can stay longer. Dates looking at April 11-13 but in stone.
NewMoon Posted January 15, 2025 Author Report Posted January 15, 2025 We are going to need more then 2-3 planes to make it work. No one else needing some sun and warmth in early April?
Eric and Carollyne Posted January 23, 2025 Report Posted January 23, 2025 Another GREAT resource for accommodations in Punta Gorda is using Fly-Inn.com! Five listings are coming on in Punta Gorda next month, and the nightly rate might be much lower than this resort for a lot more house. They're so close to the runway, you can get there on a golf cart (provided). I'll send pics if you like --Carollyne
Eric and Carollyne Posted January 23, 2025 Report Posted January 23, 2025 By the way, Fly-Inn.com is like Airbnb but exclusively for pilots. You get accommodations, a runway, a way to secure your aircraft, and ground transportation is facilitated upon landing!
