KSMooniac Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 I too think the price is high considering the age of the engine in calendar time. I'd be more comfortable with those engine hours if the overhaul was 2003 instead of 1983. The 430 doesn't mention WAAS. The WX10 is inop. I'd also worry about the age:use ratio with those expensive gyros. Cosmetics look decent, and the updated xponder, engine monitor, fuel totalizer, etc. are nice upgrades. The removable back seats are a huge feature in this price range, too. Quote
jwilkins Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 It looks like this plane was at Williamson Sodus airport when the photos were taken (KSDC). If that is correct it is a small airport owned by the Williamson Flying Club and everyone knows everyone and every plane. One of the two AP/IA's on the field owned a Mooney a few years ago and is Mooney friendly although not a MSC he's a good mechanic. You might call Ray Chapin or send him an Email and ask him what it woudol cost to do a review, and, if yo udecide ot move ahead, a pre-purchase inspection. Ray's email is rotordocny@verizon.net website is http://www.bac-helicopters.com Don't get put off by the helicopter stuff; he took care of my Mooney when I was back there and found and fixed issues that had been hanging for years, even through a lot of MSC annuals. If you do talk to Ray tell him Jim said hello. If you want to talk to someone else out there, send me a PM and I'll get you the contact information for the president of the flying club. He'll at least know who owns the plane. Jim Quote
Skywarrior Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 Quote: Bnicolette I saw that Chuck but it is dated 8/31/1978. The aircraft wasn't built until 1983? So I'm not sure what to think of that? Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 Looks like a plane worth investigating to me... Quote
nels Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 AOPA valuation in base form with 1500 hrs ttaf and eng says its worth $78000 retail but considerably less as a trade in and I would assume also less for wholesale value. No special radios or added equipment. Quote
