I just sent off my check for the PPP at Alliance Field in Ft Worth. Considering it is less than 10 minutes flying time from my home field it would be that closest that the PPP will ever be to me so gotta go!  I figured i will save on the hotel by flying home every night. Who else is going?

I need to follow up with them, I haven't heard back if I transferred over when I couldn't make it to BTV.  And I guess if you just sent in your check it isn't full.

I guess I'm one of the ones flying in from out of state.  I missed VT because of an alternator issue, so they let me switch over to TX.

I checked, all is good.  I am in.  Hotel booked.  Originally I was set up for KY, but the airplane was not ready.  VT conflicted with Mooney Max.

FYI, for non-flying partners, some of them are planning some get togethers and fun non-pilot things.  I know that several are planning on attending.  They planned this during the Right Seat Ready at Mooney Max.  So not only am I attending, my friend is also.

I have to check with them also.  I transferred from KY.

You missed a fun weekend Terry except for the 40 miles wind, low level wind shear and the rotor clouds as mentioned by Parvez, great move going to Mooney Max I should have followed your recommendation

Looking forward to seeing you all there! Yeah after holding for 28 min for 3 airliners to go ahead of us while watching the wx roll in, the ILS into Burlington dropped to 100' above minimums with 3/4 vis in moderate rain with -15kt shear near 1000' to keep you on your toes. My student did an awesome job!

Affirmative.

Is your wife coming along?

Cherry is trying to find out of others non-pilots will be coming, so they can go do things together.

Also any other non-pilots coming along?

Guess it is time to start watching the extended Wx forecasts.  But a few years ago when we took the month of Oct to do a big circle around the US I think I logged .2 out of AWO because ATC sent me West instead of South and I had to climb through some puffy stuff.  Otherwise it was ALL blue skies.

Hope that hold true this Oct as we hope to head to the NE after the PPP then some round about way back to the PNW.

There are interesting things to do in ft worth but the colony north of dallas has really grown. If the non-pilots are looking for something different, have them check out grandscape. Big shopping Nebraska furniture mart lots of shops, and new this year just opened in july is worldsprings which has mineral springs from around the world. From hot to cold pools and a bar with health foods and drinks. Bring your bathing suit.

have not been yet but high on my list to try.

So I'm getting out of Dodge!!! :D  Looks like we're going to get some rain and cooler temps in the PNW on Wednesday when we were going to depart.  So leaving Tues now rather than take the chance the clouds really aren't low and crossing the mountains in potential icing conditions.  Going to stop for the night in Moab, UT just because it seems like a fun place to stop AND I'll be able to fill in my map's one missing state in the Lower 48!!

Most of the country looks pretty clear.  But if anyone else is coming in early also because they had to get out early, let me know.  We might stop somewhere else for Wed night, but I think we'll just go to KAFW and check out Fort Worth.  Been years since I've been there.  Wonder if the place that used to cut off your necktie is still there and if anyone gets the reference from the bygone days of wearing suits to work (or the NAB convention in my case).

The Stockyards are worth the time in Ft Worth. For dinner go the The Cattleman's if you like a good steak.

The trail dust used to cut off your tie and staple it up on the wall their walls were solid ties then one year the safety nazis came and said it’s a fire hazard and they could not put them up on the wall anymore. Such is the price to pay for safety now a days.
