Lax291 Posted January 23, 2024 Report Posted January 23, 2024 Might be kicking a hornets nest here, but is there a definitive answer on if the new(ish) WAT LED recognition lights can be pilot installed and signed off? Did a search online for forum answers and didn't find anything. Quote

RoundTwo Posted January 24, 2024 Report Posted January 24, 2024 Yes. I did it with a simple sign off. Quote

In the post, I didn't see what I would call a "definitive" answer. 9 hours ago, PT20J said: "Replaced left and right recognition light bulbs with Whelen 01-0770303-20." Did you make this entry as a PP? 3 hours ago, RoundTwo said: Yes. I did it with a simple sign off. Via an IA/A&P? Quote

If somebody gets their panties in a twist later, you can beg forgiveness and get someone further up the food chain to fix the log. Quote

I would do something close to what @PT20J did, only maybe a little further: "Replaced inop left and right recognition light bulbs with Whelen direct replacement 01-0770303-2" Quote

Lax291 Posted January 25, 2024 Author Report Posted January 25, 2024 Thanks for the guidance guys. I didn't think there was a need for new W&B as I also didn't think the power supplies were driving the recognition lights. Quote

Low need for power / amps !. the LED is connected directly to the ground/12v of the ship via (of course) a circuit breaker If your plane currently has position/strobe light you will need to bypass the power supply boxes (usually one near each wingtip bolted to the last inspection panel) Quote

Lax291 Posted January 26, 2024 Author Report Posted January 26, 2024 You are correct @Fly Boomer but appreciate the willingness to help @OR75 Quote

Jetpilot86 Posted January 31, 2024 Report Posted January 31, 2024 I was told I could, but am having Maxwell do it while in annual this week. I ran out of time for pre annual projects. Quote
