Matt Seegers Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 Has anyone cleaned up the bottom (metal) portion of their panel, where the toggle switches are located? Mine has some fairly stubborn spottiness/tarnish ... I want to buff it out, but I want to do it right so I don't damage the metal. Also, is it aluminum, or some other type of metal? Thank you! Quote
DCarlton Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 I've wanted to clean mine ('67F) too over the years but have worried about damaging / removing the lettering. Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 About your only hope is to remove it, and take it to a silk screener and have them make a screen with the lettering. Then strip and polish the metal and re-silkscreen the lettering. If I recall, they put a clear coat over the lettering. There is no way to remove the clear coat without removing the text. Or contact Brice @ragedracer1977 an have him make a vinyl overlay for it. Quote
Planegary Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 I cleaned mine with a magic eraser. If it doesn’t work for you well, no harm done and you can still strip and polish Quote
