1964 M20E Left Seat "door" panel

I am needing to either replace or fix my arm rest on pilot's side panel.  Before I start taking it all apart, I was wondering if anyone has experience in this.

Do I even need to take the entire panel off just to remove the arm rest?  It seems like it might just pop out somehow, but I haven't had success.

I fixed my 66 Mooney. You will want to take off the panel. Some are 2 piece. Mine was one piece…
