Paul C Siedschlag
Have a 1978 M20J with McCauley prop. My spinner fwd bulkhead (part # 680031-011) is cracking. I have been watching the Forum and see I'm in trouble. No new ones and used ones hard to find. Has anybody already made the prop change or just have one available I can purchase? Thank You Paul C Siedschlag
kortopates
ASEI is approved to do spinner crack repairs, suggest sending them a picture of your cracked spinner bulkhead to see if they can repair it. If so, its your best option. https://www.spinner-repairs.com/spinner_repairs.html

dzeleski
I had to have mine weld repaired a few months ago. I used K & K Specialty Welding as recommend by @M20Doc haven’t had any issues with the repair 30 or so hours in. https://www.precision-welding.com

Paul C Siedschlag
Well, too much metal missing in my spinner fwd bulkhead, part # 680031-011. Nobody can fix it. Found the same part that came from a 1967 M20C at Texas Air Salvage. The hole that fits over the prop hub is slightly larger. A little extra tape on the hub and it fit perfectly. I believe it was part of a prop upgrade the C model had. I just could not believe they would stop making a part that so many of us need or will need in the future. Anyway I'm good now. KSMooniac
If anyone has any scrap/cracked beyond repair J spinner pieces, I would love to buy them for slightly more than scrap value. I would like to assemble a spinner assy for mock-up/development purposes and promise that I will not reintroduce such parts into the supply chain. I have a 2-blade McCauley hub to build on. Thanks!
