0TreeLemur Posted June 22, 2023 Report Posted June 22, 2023 While northwest bound last Friday at 8,000 ft near Neosho, Kansas, I looked up and saw this on the windshield. It looks like I ran into a blob of viscous goo. No discernable feathers. Nothing that looked like blood. Some tissue. I heard/felt nothing. Anyone have a similar experience? I stopped for fuel in Goodland, Kansas, and the nice man who re-fueled the plane washed the windshield (!) destroying the evidence before I could get a good look at it. Any guesses on what caused this strange snarge to appear on my windshield? Let the good idea train roll. Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted June 22, 2023 Report Posted June 22, 2023 Big ass bug... I once hit a bug at 14000 feet. What was a bug doing up there? 1 Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted June 22, 2023 Report Posted June 22, 2023 What's the last thing to go through a bug's mind when it hits the windshield? Its butt. I know, we all heard that in grade school, but I couldn't help myself! 1 Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted June 22, 2023 Report Posted June 22, 2023 It could be condensate from a secret government chem trail. 3 Quote

I agree, we hit one at 10,500' over western Texas a few years back. It startled me because I heard it "pop" against the windshield, then watched it ooze up... Poor bug, got stuck in a thermal, sucked up to 10,500', and then splattered across my windshield. If it was a bird there would be some red mixed in there. 1 Quote

Marc_B Posted June 22, 2023 Report Posted June 22, 2023 Geese and other waterfowl fly super high…bird poop?? I had a big splotch of yellow bug guts right in my view last month. Then flew in rain and my first thought was “awesome, this will clean it right off”…well, it was just enough moisture to make silver dollar bug guts turn to a salad plate of smeared guts running up the window. Wonder what Atc would think if I asked for 15 deg right so I can head deeper into the rain?!? Quote

Echo Posted June 25, 2023 Report Posted June 25, 2023 Sitting on deck a couple nights ago, yes after adult refreshments I saw at least five bright lights in a string going away for long eenough to yell at my wife to come look at fhis three times. Faded out more than disappearing over about ten seconds. Sky was quite clear. Any ideas what I witnessed? There wer GA and commercial aircraft also in sky with wingtip and landing lights on. Very cool and interesting visual sight. Closest to the site I have seen on video would be countermeasures deployed...And then it hit your windshield. Lol Quote
