Chris Strube Posted February 23, 2023 Report Posted February 23, 2023 1965 M20E turbo. I'm removing my "through the window" OAT probe, and have installed an AV-30. Where is the best place for an electronic OAT probe? Quote
cliffy Posted February 23, 2023 Report Posted February 23, 2023 Don't put it on the fuselage belly It will "see" the temp from the engine cowl flap exhaust and read too high I ran mine out to the left main wheel well in the flat triangular area just aft and OB of the tire There it is in the shade and reads real temp not heated by the sun and its far enough away from the outflow from the cowl. Top or side of cowl will show sun heated temps, 1 Quote
BobbyH Posted February 23, 2023 Report Posted February 23, 2023 I've seen one mounted on the pilot side fuselage, aft of the pilot side air intake above the wing. It looked pretty protected there. It was also low enough to be under the Bruce's cover they had. Quote
