Will.iam Posted September 21, 2022 Report Posted September 21, 2022 I like the tempest filter and use it on mine. Do not put oil on o-ring. The EZ function of the ring already has chemicals in the ring to help it to easily be removed when required. Also get a torque wrench on the filter for installing. Tried the hand tight and then another 3/4 turn and that was not enough it started leaking. After torquing it i was surprised just how tight the filter needs to be but it does not leak. Quote
jetdriven Posted September 21, 2022 Report Posted September 21, 2022 Tempest has approval now you can use a 48108 filter in place of the 48109. They are now interchangeable. 1 Quote
Guest Posted September 21, 2022 Report Posted September 21, 2022 Pre fill the filter with oil before installing it on your Continental engine. Quote

There are special order versions with a filler cap on the top of the filter for use on the 520 series, but never install these on a TSIO-360 in a K model they leak when installed upside down. Quote
jetdriven Posted September 22, 2022 Report Posted September 22, 2022 You can always punch a hole in it and fill it with oil carefully and then screw a drywall screw into the hole to seal it. 1 Quote
