81X Posted September 7, 2022 Report Posted September 7, 2022 For a couple of reasons, I got thinking about Bluetooth headsets- has anyone been able to figure out how to use a wireless headset/earbuds such as AirPods in their airplane? Mostly for passengers (kid) but also interested if anyone has done this for a transmitting position (pilot m/copilot). This is of course aside from the purpose built ones such as the Tangos. No real need, just curious. Quote
PT20J Posted September 8, 2022 Report Posted September 8, 2022 Sorry, it's not clear what you are trying to accomplish. If you have an audio panel that has Bluetooth you should be able to pair any Bluetooth headset to it. Skip Quote

In fact, (and I could be wrong), old A20s only do phone calls where new ones pair to all sound output through BT. Quote
LANCECASPER Posted September 9, 2022 Report Posted September 9, 2022 The bluetooth audio panels accept bluetooth in - such as from an phone or tablet. I do not believe they send bluetooth audio out. Quote
KSMooniac Posted September 9, 2022 Report Posted September 9, 2022 I think the newest PSE audio panels have an audio stream/output that can be connected to a GoPro or similar so you can narrate your videos in real time, catch the radio chatter, etc. 1 Quote
81X Posted September 10, 2022 Author Report Posted September 10, 2022 Interesting. I’m really trying to see if there are any audio panels or devices to magically use AirPods or some other Bluetooth headset in place if a larger aviation headset. Mostly for curiosity and hobby factor, no real need. Quote
Will.iam Posted September 10, 2022 Report Posted September 10, 2022 Buy a bluetooth receiver with 1/4 adapter and just plug it into the audio panel. Used to do it with bose earbuds but missed the ease of having a mic on a headset to speak into instead of the hand mic. 1 Quote

Ever done this successfully with mic and ear as that’s what I’m really after. Quote
carusoam Posted September 11, 2022 Report Posted September 11, 2022 Check sporty’s … They may have options for both BT in and / or out… Many people are looking to add a music source or phone in… the same people probably would like to use a nice listen only for back seaters… Best regards, -a- Quote
