PWL Posted July 18, 2022 Report Posted July 18, 2022 The center button on the mixture control knob that engages/disengages the vernier is stuck in and as a result the vernier no longer works. The mixture can be controlled by pulling or pushing the knob in and out, but I need to get the vernier working. has anyone else had this problem and, if so, is there a fix other than buying a new control? I have an 85 J-model with relatively new controls for throttle and mixture control. Quote
carusoam Posted July 18, 2022 Report Posted July 18, 2022 Check hours on the control to decide if it should be replaced… 2k hrs is a good number. Otherwise parts for the knob are available from the control supplier… They are common wear items… The knob supplier is easily found when searching for owner supplied parts… they are our test case for how this system works… Best regards, -a- Quote
mooneyflyfast Posted July 18, 2022 Report Posted July 18, 2022 Remove the screw in the center of the button and remove the button (watch the spring) Hard to explain but you will see the problem. There is a nut that falls off. Just put it back and tighten it. This has happened on my 81 J twice over the years. 1 Quote
