I've removed the wingtips from 25-1061 with 1800tt.  These have Whelen strobes, Nav Lights, Aft Nav light and Fwd recognition light.  Prefer to sell complete, but I can sell individual pieces if you really need something.

Also have the Whelen strobe power packs, (14-28v) and an aft rudder strobe.

Both my RH & LH wingtip strobes have gone out, including a recognition light on my M20K s/n: 25-1069 Mooney. How much will you sell the complete Whelen unit and recognition lights for?

Im also considering buying the Whelen LED replacement unit. However, it has the white rear-facing white light that won’t work in our wingtips. Correct?

Hi Dave,

The rear facing white Nav light is on a separate circuit.  One of my bulbs failed, so i bought an LED replacement - it did not fit.  Then i found out there is a Mooney retrofit kit to change from one bulb to another.  I cut my losses and installed a combined LED Nav/Strobe light, very pleased with it. I had the rudder off anyway for the Encore upgrade, so it was easy to install, but I think you can do it with the rudder on.  I still have to run a Nav power wire to the front.

The forward facing recognition lights are trimmed down Whelen halogens with built in reflectors.  Hard to find, and they melt the plastic cover.  I've sold these already for a nominal price, who knows if they will last long?

I purchased some combined Whelen strobe and Nav lights that will replace the existing strobes and Nav's, and remove the power supply on the inspection cover just inboard.

So I can help with replacement strobe parts, PM to follow.

Dave, I am not sure what you're saying/asking. I have the new Orion LED replacement lights in both wing tips and the tail - same one in the tail that Don shows above. You do have to pull a new wire to the tail to power the white nav light on the tail since the Orion adds a nav light while the Mooney only had a strobe back their,

The Recognition lights are a Sylvania projector bulb you buy and trim down to fit - google Mooneyspace for details as there are multiple threads on it. Or you can go with an unapproved LED replacement of which there are also multiple threads about here.

Your 252 only had a tail strobe?  My 231 had a nav and strobe in the tail.

I've also got the Whelen LED now too, but always had the combo in the tail.

Yes, somewhere along the line they put the white Nav light on the back of the wingtips.  Then they converted from one halogen bulb holder to another.
